Marmatus@reddit
Ngl, I don't know what the problem is here, and reading the comments so far didn't help me.
FossMan21@reddit (OP)
It’s all good. So this was taken in Wisconsin. This type of combination is not allowed in this state.
Positive-Ease3536@reddit
These are not 53s
RADAR3015@reddit
I live in Wisconsin, but what I can't figure out is how he managed to pass through so many other states that restrict this combination from going through theirs?
FossMan21@reddit (OP)
I also live in Wisconsin and thought the same thing.
tidyshark12@reddit
Ah, i see the tandems now LaughingOutLoud from this distance, it just looks like a set of double pups lol
Redsoxdragon@reddit
Thanks for clarifying because double 53' is allowed in my state but restricted. I thought this could've been some random inspection
DefiantTemperature41@reddit
"The BOL said donuts. What did you think we were gonna do?"
Marmatus@reddit
It's odd that the landing gear appears to be down on the rear trailer, but that doesn't seem to be what we're talking about?
easymachtdas@reddit
probably following the officers directions, dropping the combination trailerin order to be compliant
12InchPickle@reddit
Or very possibly under the assumption there was no restriction lol.

Freedom
lord_nuker@reddit
What freedom? As far as I can see you guys are just two bad Trump days away from slavery again. Anyway, why isn't there a set regulations regarding trailer combos that is for all the states instead of this only applies to this states, and that combo is only legal in that specific state?
Laffenor@reddit
We guys? Sure, the 15% Ttump tariff is bad news (although Stoltenberg will hopefully be able to reduce it somewhat), but it will hardly cause slavery.
Anyways, there is such set regulations regarding trailer combos that apply for all states. That's the standard 53ft trailer, which is the general limit for the entire USA. This is exactly the same as our 16,5m semi / 18,75m truck + trailer, which applies to all of Europe. At the same time, we have local exceptions, like the general 17,5m / 19,5m in Norway, 25,25m for Sweden and Finland, as well as large parts of the road network here in Norway, in Denmark and many other countries, 34m in parts of Sweden, Finland and Spain, and many other national and regional exceptions.
jmzstl@reddit
There are federal standards for trailer length and combinations, but then they allow exemptions for states that applied for them. Some states see it as increasing efficiency and others see it as dangerous and more damaging to roads.
kyson1@reddit
Because the USA is very large and diverse, both in population and terrain, and what works in one area doesn't work or make sense in all areas. US states are the size of European countries, why doesn't the EU have the same traffic laws in every country? Or more comparable in size, Australia, who also has different laws for different states and territories.

Lmao. Go back to bed boomer.
lord_nuker@reddit
I am in bed, it's 1 am here i live😂
Elderado12443@reddit
Lmao. Perfect timing.
JColeTheWheelMan@reddit
What an absolute nothing post. If you put any less effort in, I'd assume you were an OTR driver.
FossMan21@reddit (OP)
This happened in Wisconsin. Sorry. If you do zoom in you could see the logo on the state patrol car.
Laffenor@reddit
You really can't.
pingus3233@reddit
Did you say enhance? You have to say enhance.
Jermaphobe456@reddit
Some random woman did this to my dad's reefer to publicly shame her cheating husband since my dad's reefer sat on a lot with the side walling facing the main road in and out of town. She was dumb enough to brag about it while my dad was tracking her down and he found her.
Basically it was either his trailer got a new paint job or she went to jail for vandalism. My dad got the new paint job in the end, if this had been anywhere but a small country town, he never would have found who did it
Solid_Pen7472@reddit
We can pull double 48s on the thruway in NY but need a tt number from the state on every piece of equipment.
RKK-Crimsonjade@reddit
Twin 33’s . Illegal on the interstate. Feds are on the line with them and the 57 long box. Just more freight for the same $$&. Just say no
balancedchaos@reddit
It's hard to judge scale. Are those double 48s or dual axle pups?
FossMan21@reddit (OP)
Looks like 48s to me. The guy who took the pic said they weren’t pups
balancedchaos@reddit
That makes sense. Dual axle pups are rare.
TruckinTuba@reddit
I mostly pull sets like that
ItsSugarbear@reddit
What state is he in?
FossMan21@reddit (OP)
Wisconsin
jmzstl@reddit
Now the real question is where did he start? I'd be impressed if he came from Indiana and made if all the way through Illinois like that.
FossMan21@reddit (OP)
That’s a great question. I doubt he did. He was 28 miles from Minnesota. My guess is NoDak and left late and night and got lucky in Moorhead and then also got through the Robert’s scale. It could be possible that he skipped the scale in Wisconsin and it took them that long to chase him down
Billy_Bigrigger@reddit
How far did he get? 🤣
Asking for a friend.
