Well you guys were right on Friday! $20 more than the $199 LCP MAX I posted last week. Wish I had waited.

Great price but I think I’m going to hold off for the bodyguard 2 to come in around $300
MM_Spartan@reddit
This gun fucks.
I carried the LCP II forever, as I’m not too big of a frame and typically wear more form fitting sort of stuff.
When I saw a good deal on the Max I decided to try it… and my word is it light years ahead of the II.
Ruger says it’s the “same footprint” as the II, which is accurate. It’s technically bigger, but still much closer to the size of the II than say a micro-9 like a Hellcat. Overall it conceals virtually the same; I typically do a 3-4 IWB.
As for shooting, this thing is night and day vs the II. It actually is fun to shoot. It’s not snappy, it’s smooth, accurate, and fits my hand better. I think it’s a better shooter than my Hellcat.
Love it, and can’t praise it enough.
I do need to try a BG 2.0, as I’ve heard that’s even better than the Max, but for now this thing is my go to.

Bro the bodyguard 2.0 makes this feel like like your shooting the original lcp compared to it . Not to mention the first time you pocket carry this and pull it out to to shoot and you just get a click because something got stuck between the hammer and the pin you won't ever trust it again. If you have the money bodyguard 2.0 is the way to go
throwawayformobile78@reddit
I’ve got both. Selling the 2.0. To each their own.
PhysicalGuidance358@reddit
Just a little pebble got in there the first time sencod time was because of dirt getting in there . I work construction so debris gets into my pockets all the time . The lcp and lcp max having that exposed hammer is the biggest downfall for me. I switched to a kahr p380 before the bodyguard came out now have the bodyguard and the trigger and recoil are far better then any other 380 I've shot and I haven't had a single malfunction yet with it and she is filthy right now .
throwawayformobile78@reddit
Interesting and fair. Thanks for the reply. I don’t pocket carry but I could see the issue there especially with your job.
9millbill@reddit
I agree completely.
I’ve only recently switched to a BG 2.0 and, so far, I prefer it… but I’m hanging onto my LCP MAX in case the 2.0 has unforeseen issues.

Once I got used to the sight alignment and did the basic easy mods it's a pretty great little gun.
GigaCheco@reddit
What kinda ammo you carry with it?
MM_Spartan@reddit
Usually sig V-crown. Cycles well and never had an issue.
GigaCheco@reddit
Thanks. I carry a 42 sometimes and was curious.

Well said, the LCP Max is awesome, super comfy, good capacity, easy to shoot at 10 yards, great sights, cheap mags
killacarnitas1209@reddit
Coming from an OG LCP this is the biggest upgrade, not just because the OG LCP had no sights, but because the sights on the LCP Max are very good. As long as you see that big green dot you know they are properly aligned. Also, my OG LCP holsters fit this as well
Superaerogavin@reddit
Like mine as well, I have held a BG 2 and I would probably buy one instead now but my max has better so far 100 percent reliable through the about 200 rounds I put through it.
Pretty happy to slip it into a pocket
_amosburton@reddit
oh man is it not a fun gun to shoot. it's great for it's intended purpose, but it's not a range gun. my finger hurts after like 1-2 magazines. and not sure what we're calling snappy, but it's not a smooth gun necessarily either.
that said it's still my EDC. i love the LCP Max in spite of its flaws and yes it's way better than the LCP II, especially for the cost (roughly half what a BG 2.0 goes for)
MM_Spartan@reddit
I guess relative to the II it’s fun and not snappy.
No, it’s not particularly a range gun. The II is a pain, but this is such an improvement.

I too think my LCP Max has terrible felt recoil. A friend who shot 5000+ rounds at police academy has 4 or 5 Glocks in different calibers including 10mm said my LCP Max kicks like a mule. I've heard the same from others. I have XL sized hands. I've read that it may be more of an issue for those with XL size hands. Two at my gun club do not think the felt recoil is bad.
The pinching of the trigger on the pad of the finger can be eliminated by either cutting off the sharp edges of the polymer trigger with a sharp knife or removed via a fingernail file. They 75th edition has a better trigger that does not have this issue according to those who have it. The trigger may be made out of metal. The MCarbo trigger is a little nicer than a polymer trigger after removal of sharp edges but I am not sure it is worth the cost after I removed the sharp edges on my original polymer trigger. Galloway Precision also makes a replacement trigger that some like.
I still have an issue with the muzzle snap causing my trigger finger to slip off the end of the trigger and pressing my finger into the trigger guard. So I eliminated the pinching on the pad of my finger but the side of my finger still gets hurt by the trigger guard.
Installing a Hogue grip sleeve made it a little less unpleasant to shoot.
Most who owned the LCP Max say the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 is much more pleasant to shoot. One person said he still liked the LCP Max better for his hands. I think he said he was getting slide bite with the Bodyguard. Most do not get slide bite but those with fleshy webs by their thumbs may be more likely to get slide bite with the Bodyguard 2.0. He also had a few other reasons he like the LCP Max better. I would recommend renting both before buying them.

I'm genuinely surprised by this. I've owned 4 LCP variants, probably 50-60 handguns, and have been shooting for about 25 years, and I wouldn't put the LCP as being even as unpleasant as a Gen 3 23. It's fine for me. Must really depend on hand size/shape.
Thaknobodi87@reddit
There hasnt been a polymer gun ive owned, but i took a sharpened and stropped pocket knife to the burrs and smoothed it out.
eking111@reddit
I got this same LCP max yesterday from this deal and love it!
IBM_ThinkPad@reddit
If you are willing to wait, the LCP MAX 75th edition goes on sale for $200 sometimes
SMZcrystals@reddit
Why does OP wish he had waited if this is $20 more than last week?
MackRidell@reddit (OP)
I heard the anniversary edition is better than the regular MAX. Mainly the trigger? Anyone disagree?
Immediate_Magician62@reddit
You get the metal trigger instead of a plastic one which is cool
eDiesel18@reddit
These are know to shoot very low.
