Its been a weird ride because I've always been on the screaming edge of technology since I was a little kid. I got DSL then cable as soon as those were available.

So the whole "Internet through the phone" was like a hot 4 years?

It's like the equivalent of saying "back in my day we only had 512Mb ipods", but that wasn't like my whole youth. mentally there was like 7 seconds between when I had 512Mb storage and when I had a 20Gb Archos Jukebox.

I think the meme would be more accurate if they said something like "back in my day music came on two spinning wheel in a little box", which was a thing for far longer.
