CatLady7423@reddit
How about this guy? He is firmly in Gen X and has played some awesome roles.
International-Mix425@reddit
I kind of think Leonardo DiCaprio. Born in 1974 and was in What's Eating Gilbert Grape at 19. He was 21 when he was in The Basketball Diaries.

Svenderhof@reddit
This guy inspired me to make a spaceship out of a tilt-a-whirl carriage, garbage can, and a graphing calculator.
I think the graphing calculator substitution is where I went wrong. I'm not really sure.
After I woke up from the coma and learned how to walk again I was able to find the wreckage at the bottom of a ravine. I performed an extensive investigation and determined that I didn't even know what a blackbox was when I was eleven so I had no further information to determine what really led to rolling down that incline instead of flying into orbit.

Good grief, our mascot/spokes person/avatar for future generations will probably end up being Corey Feldman.
We’ll be judged by him.

I don’t think we have a mascot. That’s kind of what makes us who we are.
FaithlessnessLegal11@reddit
I agree, I didn’t interact with a lot of pop culture that supposedly repped our generation and something about Ethan Hawk always left me with unsettling feels.
Cool-Mo-J@reddit
I didn't know who he was, but he looks like the grown up version of a bunch of different guys I knew in high school... so yeah, he screams Gen X to me 😂

So I would go Cusack, tho Ethan definitely great representation. Also after reading comments…Parker Posey and Juliet Lewis are the poster girls for Gen x

Waffuru@reddit
For me it's Keanu, he's just in so many things that I've loved over the years.
That said, I think another good one might be Jason Bateman. He was all over our tv shows in the 80's, I think I couldn't watch anything without him popping up somewhere. Also, I believe he often plays characters that FEEL like GenX, usually snarky, put upon, disaffected, perpetually annoyed. His character in Arrested Developement is the culmination of characters he's been over the years, making him very squarely a GenX relatable character.
Purely my opinion, I feel like I've grown up with Jason Bateman just everywhere. XD

A sucky album. Overrated and only considered good because he offed himself while on top. That band and him had no staying power and not one word could be understood in that mumbled mess. And definitely did not define a generation. But we can all have our opinions. Thats mine!
GreyBoyTigger@reddit
I swear I heard this exact screed from every guy I met at house parties who was in a band.
Sorry to tell you, they were generation defining. They influenced tons of future bands. 40 years later kids will listen to their music and copy their style. They were an amazing band.
There’s always the “what if” factor but tons of bands that fall apart have that question. Cobain could have ruined his legacy by turning into an asshole like Clapton or Morrissey. He could also have been just like Eddie Vedder.

Is this a box that celebrities have to check off their bucket list or something? Gross.

Swayze was a full on Boomer (1952).

Reality Bites is often hailed as the reflection of the Gen X zeitgeist.
"There's no point to any of this. It's all just a... a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know... a Quarter-Pounder with cheese, those are good, the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moment where your laughter become a cackle... and I, I sit back and I smoke my Camel Straights and I ride my own melt." - Ethan Hawke as Troy Dyer in Reality Bites

I'd go with Slacker, never liked Reality Bites or Singles.

I just re-watched Explorers for the millionth time just the other night. Still entertaining!!
However, I wanted to get up and walk out of a movie he was in a many years back, Maudie (2016). His acting was outstanding, but maybe too much so. He portrayed an absolute POS and he F-ing nailed it. So much so I almost don't like him anymore because I can't forget how shitty a person his character was. I acknowledge it is my issue -- separating the art from the artist.
