.40 is a manlier round than 9mm and not old timey like the .45
Anyone that disagrees is just ashamed of their weak wrists.
TheMoves@reddit
Tbh I always saw .40 as the 10mm for people with weak wrists

The ultimate weak wrist play is:

Gotta go with Magtech for 10mm plinking. 600+ ftlbs out of the G40.
Yes I ccw it.
My back up is a G20 on my ankle.
DerKrieger105@reddit
Then comment on every gun post
"I'd buy it if it was in 10mm"
Then never actually buy it even if it becomes available in 10mmm because you're a poor.
Superhereaux@reddit
You can add “Need a threaded barrel” to that list

🤣I hope it keeps getting hate online, keeps the prices down.
cyclorphan@reddit
Yep, fairly affordable ammo is one of the main selling points for me.
redsox985@reddit
For real. You can push some hot loaded 40s&w JHPs to 600 ftlbs without going over safe pressure limits. 9+P JHP struggles to touch 450 ftlbs and can't approach 500 without going to ultralight copper solids.
usa2a@reddit
It ain't no magnum, it ain't no 10mm, but it's probably in a tie or 2nd place for the most powerful widely issued duty handgun cartridge IF comparing the actual issued LE ammo not what could have been.
I.e. when the FBI used 10mm they issued it at 180gr x 1000 FPS, the same ballistics that .40 replicated. When they used .357 Magnum revolvers they were issuing .38+P ammo. But when .40 was the issued round of choice, since it was already a watered-down 10mm, it was not watered down any further than that. It's still got about 20% more energy than a 9mm or a standard-pressure .45 ACP, or 40% more energy than the "FBI load" .38+P. .357 SIG beats it on energy by a little more still, but not much.
Alarmed-Owl2@reddit
.40 is the .380 of 10mm
kale_boriak@reddit
Aren’t those the ones that fire when they feel like it?
WIFirearmsTransfers@reddit (OP)
Nope! You’re likely thinking of the P320.

That I am - cheers!

Can convert to DA/SA for around $150 ($20 more for SRT). YouTube is great for showing you how. Matrix Precision rocks and I highly recommend their stuff.

Loweeel@reddit
Or just buy the DA/SA from the same store in Very Good condition for less than that?

There are other reputable sellers out there, too!

Decent looking gun and a good price. Keep in mind it comes with less mags, which pushes that price up a bit.
wubrgwizard@reddit
Absolutely. No shade to you, I've bought plenty from your shop (most recently a G19.5). Just letting the guys know what's up and what their options are.
terraNautical22@reddit
DAK is incredibly smooth. It's not my preference, but on a .40 P229 it's really nice. I regret selling mine.
Nouseriously@reddit
My dak 226 shoots quite nice
GigaCheco@reddit
Good to know. I got this gun in .357sig some time ago and have yet to shoot it. I’m also not one to change out OEM triggers/parts so reading your comment makes me look forward to shooting it.
WIFirearmsTransfers@reddit (OP)
A positive comment about DAK? You might be our hero! Personally, I don't mind DAK and was hard pressed to know the difference unless I was told the gun was DAK.
netchemica@reddit
I'll chime in with a semi positive comment about the DAK.
We used to carry DAK 40's for duty, it was the only pistol option we had. As soon as we switched to it, our qualification scores plummetted and many people had a hard time qualifying.
That said, the trigger never bothered me and I actually liked it for two reasons: I instantly became the best shooter at our agency and for some odd reason I was much more accurate with the DAK than I was with any DA/SA Sig. In fact, the only other pistol I can shoot as accurately is my CZC Accu Shadow BLK.
Extension_Sun_896@reddit
I’m in Port. Do you have a showroom so I can avoid the FFL fee? Thanks.
WIFirearmsTransfers@reddit (OP)
Yes, we do! We’re open 10-7 Mon-Fri and 10-4 Sat. 20316 W Main St, Lannon
ARMAGELADON@reddit
These can be barrel and mag swapped to 9mm right?
WIFirearmsTransfers@reddit (OP)
Yes, they can be converted.
Mobeer@reddit
As someone who is forced to carry the Beretta 92D (SLMPD for you) I wish we had the DAK over it. We are switching to M&Ps (because we are cheap) at the end of the year with Holosun optic and mounted lights so there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Our department literally has had to have Beretta make the 92D as a custom gun for years and has paid something like 1300-1400 range per pistol. Retarded is an understatement.
randotaway90@reddit
How do they surplus stuff? Im local.
Mobeer@reddit
Officers will get 1st dibs on buying their service pistols then a local dealer will sell the remainder. If I remember I will make a post here I guess once they go up for sale to the public.

Hi r/GunDeals, we have a good deal on police trade-in Sig Sauer P229's today. All of these are chambered in .40 S&W DAK (Double Action Kellerman). Yes, we know many of you don't like DAK. For those of you unaware, double action kellerman is similar to DAO, except that it has two trigger weight pulls. After your first trigger pull, you have the option to partially release the trigger. The first pull and the following half pulls are two different trigger weights. If you opt to fully release the trigger, the gun functions like DAO with a single weight trigger pull. It's weird to explain, but that are fun to shoot!

Did I just miss the G48s go out of stock again??
Blackmist71@reddit
The $320 price is about what I paid for my p226 DAK through an auction. I didn’t even know what DAK was until I got it and thought there was no way a DA/SA had that heavy of a trigger pull. After doing some research I’m pretty sure some PDs and organizations required it because of the heavy trigger pull. It’s not that bad now that I’m a getting used to it, but I do kinda wish it were DA/SA
Brehmes@reddit
You can get a parts kit to change it to DA/SA
KING_UDYR@reddit
No 9mm p229? :(
burner456987123@reddit
If I didn’t just get one in DA/SA I’d grab one of these. I hear the DAK is a somewhat long pull but cool once you get used to it.
