Following distance

First, off the truck in front me cut me off after speeding pass me then slowed down in front of me, secondly it was a truck close behind me if I smacked the brakes they would’ve ran into me, thirdly I took my foot off the gas what else could I have done?

When I slow down in traffic then cars and trucks come from behind I might as well drive 55mph at this rate 🤦♂️

Which is exactly what you see the dark blue Amazon daycabs doing all the time, for this same reason.
If you want to keep your job, play by their stupid rules. Otherwise it’s time to look for something else.

The only way to keep my distance is to do 55-60 mph
jmzstl@reddit
That's exactly what they want you to do.

I’m governed at 65 so it’s really bad on 2 lane highways I can’t keep my distance and I’m not doing 10 miles under the limit and cars and trucks hop in front of me all day I refuse to drive 10 miles under the limit

I don't know how many different ways I can say it...your company doesn't care. You have to either play by their rules or find another job.
We all know these camera systems are dumb as hell.

I’m just play their rules I get paid to well here

I worked at Amazon and yes. It was bad. I remember someone cutting me off and because I was going 1 mile over the speed limit. They wrote me up and grilled me cause of following distance

What's with your use of commas? Very hard to read
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
This isn’t English class
MostOriginalNameEver@reddit
What's in front of you is you're duty to maintain....person riding your ass will be to blame if you had to suddenly brake.
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
The only way I keep my distance is going 5-10 miles under the limit and that’ll slow me down
MostOriginalNameEver@reddit
Also not all cameras trigger the same.
Everyone seems to get 100ft Max in front of me when switching lanes. I check their speed and either turn on my Jake's to back off or cancel my cruise.
Some of our trucks dang near start recording right away. Yours might just be one of the unluckier ones

You're being used as non-consensual guinea pig to train bad AI and safety people. Money out of your pocket for lost safety bonus, maybe you quit from the harassment or get fired, they get bonuses for putting misery in other people's lives.
There is no shame anymore.

I’m governed at 65 2 lane highways is terrible I can’t keep my distance at all unless I do 55 mph
Waisted-Desert@reddit
All these systems record a few seconds before the incident. So if it gets passed on to your safety department for review, they should see that the truck cut in front of you and that you reacted accordingly.
If your safety department can't use a little common sense when seeing that, then it's time to look for another job before they fire you for safety violations you can't really fight.

They sent me a video to watch but it doesn’t show the part where they got in front me
PlantsNCaterpillars@reddit
Do you have video?
If you’re getting dinged for this your safety person should be going over how the system works and why it nailed you so that you can avoid it in the future.
Most systems give you 2-3 seconds to do something before it nails you. It doesn’t mean slamming on the brakes but enough to start creating more following distance.
offsetbackingtoright@reddit
Tell them context matters and you want to see 20 seconds before, and the rear camera footage.
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
The only way to be able to keep distance is to go 55 mph and that’s to slow I won’t make money going that slow
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
In traffic it’s hard to keep distance
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
Only way I can keep my distance is if I do 5-10 miles under the speed limit
Linfords_lunchbox@reddit
Nannycam dictating how you drive.

Have to wonder how most these idiots pass the test get a license. At the amount of accidents nowadays. That the insurance companies would band together and say enough is enough already.
potatocross@reddit
Not sure how your lytx is set but for ours we have to be tailgating someone for a few seconds before it goes off.
Also I don’t care about what’s behind me. If I have to hit the brakes I have to hit the brakes. I can’t control what other idiots are doing behind me.
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
I see trucks closer than I am all the time I wasn’t even that close to them
ComprehensiveDark814@reddit
That looks like less than 2 seconds following distance at 65mph
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
Yep and the truck had just cut me off he was going fast to get around me then slowed down in down in front I had distance the idiot cut me off then slowed down in down
ComprehensiveDark814@reddit
I've never had lytx but the system I'm used to won't ding you if you hit the brakes a few times and then re-engage cruise control and allow it to back off automatically.
