What’s the smallest single handed boat with a trapeze

This question is purely for my own amusement it would be really funny if there was a 10ft skiff sailboat out there with a trapeze . The smallest I can find is a Blaze skiff at 13.7 feet or the 12ft skiff (but that’s double handed) or the topper or RS cat 12’s are there any smaller boats

I know a 420 can have them. That's 420 cm, or 13'9"

I’d say it’s likely a Hobie 14

MPS (Must Performance Skill) is 15 feet. Single trap solo boat. Has racks that can be taken in for smaller storage. A handful in the US.

Moth?

Moth?
Kite surfing?
12ft is about as small as your going to get regardless of the trapeze question, just due to boat design constraints.

Sabot is 8ft, but no trapeze. Possibly one could be rigged though?

Yeah, but the extra support so you could stand would be a lot to build and the fact that it would only be in like 30 knots if you are heavier than 130 lbs. Also I wouldn't trust a mast that thin to pulled on like that

moth doesn't have a trap.
gulielmusdeinsula@reddit
Huh, I guess it doesn’t, my bad.

Don't feel bad, I thought it did too .. 😆

Far 3.7 skiff
wrongwayup@reddit
Think that's our winner so far, though oddly enough it's still longer than the bonkers doublehanded 12' Skiff.

RS 600 at 14' 8" is the smallest I can think of...
wrongwayup@reddit
LWL or LOA?

LOA
wrongwayup@reddit
Oof, that eliminates just about any skiff. Think you've got it with your Blaze then.

I was thinking hull length

Good! Would disqualify a lot if skiffs if not. See my other answer about the Eaton 12.

No one has mentioned the Swift Solo. the Musto and the RS700 both have em...

Got to be the Eaton 12 was a 12' singlehanded skiff by Paul Bieker for Fred Eaton of Toronto.
The photos don't seem to be showing for me on Bieker's website but you can find them by googling "bieker eaton 12". I've seen her sail and she's a handful - similar to a '14 or 49er or 12ft skiff but without the extra set of hands. Probably why she ended up being a one-off.

I think the Quattro 14 (14 feet) single trapeze racing catamaran and the I14 (eye forurteen) (14 feet), two trapezes, are tied for smallest. Next might be the 470 (15 feet 5 inches) also dual trapeze.
Done a tone of racing in the I14 and let me tell you it can be a ride. Tons of fun to sail, bit much sail square footage to boat weight and you can pretty easily find yourself in the drink even with some experience. But oh my god when that thing gets up and going.

If you’re considering double ganders then the 420 is (naturally) smaller than the 470 at 13’ 9”

I once tied a line over the top of a laser full rig mast when I weighed probably 100lbs and made a barely functional trapeze. The wold is your oyster if you have the will power the and mast step/ rig can handle the weight. I feel like going any smaller than the boats you mentioned would create an extremely unbalanced boat fore and aft and likely end in a quality nosedive with moderate heel

I figured there would be a practical limit but also humans are humans like to do unpractical things

I mean there are some super high performance skifs and foiling single hand boats out there. They mainly seem to rely on trampoline style outriggers. Looking at a couple of boats, it’s seems that as performance goes up in smaller cat rigged skiffs the more likely they have free standing rigs that arnt conducive to trapeze setups.

Contender, Musto skiff and RS700 all fit that category and are more or less the same size

Hobie Wave is 12'

Super Swinger - 11ft , Jib, Main, Spinnaker and Trapeze. Designed by Bob Miller, who achieved greater fame as Ben Lexen the designer of Australia II, winner of the 1983 America's Cup.
It's rare to find them these days, even rarer outside Australia.

I dont know if you cou t this, but my windsurf board is 9' (there are shorter ones).
Windsurfers wear a harness which hooks onto a harness loop, but the harness loop is on the boom, not the top of the mast, so technically not a trapeze, i guess, but its pretty much the same principle.

There’s the Musto but I think that’s about the same as what you have given for the Blaze. It’s an absolutely bonkers boat
Toomuchviolins@reddit (OP)
Yeah, but aren’t they around 14 feet
M37841@reddit
Yeah actually just looked it up, nearly 15’

First thought was a Contender, but they're 16ft
