Help gauging cost of paint materials

The last time i painted my car was about 6 years ago and im not sure if im just out of touch or if materials really just got that expensive. I was quoted near $900 for nissan red tri coat paint materials. The amounts i need is to cover all the yellow in red and the re clear the whole car so the shop gave me a quote for a quart of everything and 1 gallon of clear since i would be needing clear for the whole car but color for only about half a car. 6 years ago the same materials where around $300, is $900 the new real with inflation or should i shop around?

That's the going rate, prices have gone through the roof on materials. 11 years ago, my quote was $4k, 5 years ago it was $6k .... I just paid $9k to finally get it done. Just for reference
