Does anyone have experience with Prime inc? I work for Swift and I'm ready to get the F out of here. Not gonna rant on the BS I deal with but I only have 6 months experience driving.
Was thinking about Prime inc in MO.
Material-Pension3706@reddit
I started with Swift and then went to Werner, so far no complaints. Will be moving on after getting some more endorsements and finding better pay.
chvmpagnevibes@reddit
Did you do a full year with swift?
genosx71@reddit
Where u based out of
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
KC
kona_kenanu@reddit
Go to butler transport, located in KC and they’re better than both
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
Thanks
Tat2dtrukr@reddit
Amazon Prime Inc is trash
bjbeardse@reddit
Will Knight take you? It's SLIGHTLY better...
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
Knight and Swift are merged
bjbeardse@reddit
That is what the slightly better was for...
Leto_ll@reddit
Frying pan to fire. Prime will starve you AND ruin your credit.
CannibalAnus@reddit
My credit did not get ruined and i am a prime drop out.
Virel_360@reddit
I’ve never been starved, I went through Prime‘s PSD program to get my drivers license and I’ve been with them for almost 10 years now. No complaints.
Mindes13@reddit
But you'll have your own truck!
buddhathebard@reddit
You don’t want to go to prime. They treat their drivers like customers.
Auquaholic@reddit
Try to get onto one of Swift's dedicated accounts. They're really nice and pay better than their otr.
buddhathebard@reddit
This is the right answer.
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
I'm a new driver at Swift and get treated like shit. My driver leader yells at me when she speaks, she is very rude and unapproachable, complaining to the driver manager or worse the terminal manager is a NO NO.. They will look into it and find she did or said nothing wrong, my check for past 3 weeks has been under $70.00 and I drove 1983miles my first week F_CK Swift ?!! Swift does not take care of anyone who is not a mentor, owner op., or team driver, everyone else BEND OVER!
PolarBear1958@reddit
You can't even eat for less that $70 in three weeks. That's criminal.
NomadTruckerOTR@reddit
Swift isn't that bad. Maybe ask management if you can get a new DL if they aren't looking out for you.
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
I've asked that and was denied 2X by the driver manager and once by the terminal manager
JediKiller15@reddit
I've only been with Prime for a couple months now and they're not bad, but, definitely look for local routes.
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
How are the loads and pay?
djcryptik@reddit
For the love of GOD don't go to Prime.
Candid_Bet9603@reddit (OP)
Please elaborate
Independent-Fun8926@reddit
Prime will be just as bad as Swift. Don’t jump from mega to mega, that only makes for misery.
Look around and see who else is hiring. Some LTL companies hire at the 6 month mark. It’ll be easier to get a good job with more experience. It might be worth it to stay another 6 months if you can.
Negative334@reddit
Not only that Prime trucks only do 62mph
naftel@reddit
And don’t crash.
Swift already has a bad enough image
Independent-Fun8926@reddit
Swift’s image is rock solid, like the rock that Swifty just clobbered lmao
santanzchild@reddit
No joke. Every time and there has been a good few. I see a trailer high centered on a giant rock there is a sswift truck attached to the front of it.
Getz3m@reddit
You just got fired lol you have no room to talk about anyone
santanzchild@reddit
If that's the case they forgot to tell me
duhrun@reddit
This is why most people should never enter trucking, it’s gonna be just another excuse at the next company if there is one.
flergityberg@reddit
Leonard’s Express will hire you with six months experience, I’m in your position and have been in talks with them. They pay .60cpm and guarantee your reset at home. I think I’m going to finish a year with Swift before I change companies though. As others have said, one year opens doors.
rockypoint28457@reddit
My niece was otr at swift went local swift after 4 months and has been happy ever since. It's been 2 years.
RedimidoSoy1611@reddit
Whats wrong with swift? Pay?? I heard they take care of newbies pretty well but they don't help ou
alphieboo@reddit
pay is pretty low, first month driving with swift so far, they do take care of me. all depends on driver leader, my first one was a lil bitchy so i switched
Cakeandchip@reddit
What is your pay with swift??
alphieboo@reddit
i’m in cali they pay weird. but i’m 41c/ mile for production and 16.5 for hourly, no idea how they calculate each
but yes. it’s ridiculously low
RedLipStripeSweater@reddit
The only mega i liked was jb hunt. Prime makes you pay for Everything
Redsoxdragon@reddit
Brother just run swift for 6 more months. Believe it or not Prime is way worse. If you want, ask the hr dept to switch you to a different account. Usually send consistency solves 90% of a company's bs
Gonzotrucker1@reddit
This is the funniest thing I’ve read today. Going from one shit company to another shit company. They are all the same just a different color. Dry van otr companies are the same.
12InchPickle@reddit
You’re better off staying with swift. Or finding another company.
AugustusTheVictor@reddit
Finish your last 6. Having that year makes a difference in what you're offered
Avalios@reddit
Please rant on the BS. It's entertaining.
Aromatic-Scratch3481@reddit
Look for local jobs, at 6 months some doors open, most open at 1-3 years it seems tho
JGRACEFAN95@reddit
I’ve been with prime for 3.5 years now and it’s not the best but far from the worst. If I was yin your situation I would probably look for a solid local/regional job near you but there are worse places to make a living.
jgremlin_@reddit
Do you know the difference between one mega carrier and literally any other mega carrier?
Its a trick question. There is no difference. Stay where you're at until you have enough experience to get insured by a small local company. Switching jobs after less than a year closes doors for you that you're going to wish were open in the future.
Nero-Danteson@reddit
^this. Grit your teeth and push through. Also if you're having issues be it with your DL or terminal tell someone higher up. Honestly with the way freights gonna be sticking it out longer with a mega might be the best bet. Plus if you went through the academy you'll still owe them.
ivyentre@reddit
Look for local driving jobs, food service jobs...
I strongly consider finishing your first year at Swift. The doors open after that.
paisaarrecho@reddit
Look for Local Jobs in your area maybe JB hunt is hiring
