So go back to its roots and sell luxo only?
FeemBleem@reddit
They’re not ever going top the W124 era, don’t have hope for it.
Ok-Efficiency-5728@reddit
Let's face it, Mercedes has kinda been building shit anyway. They have little to nothing interesting in their lineup anymore. Just a bunch of variations of the same crap in different sizes.
Immediate_Bee_6472@reddit
That’s all cars literally ford has been making the mustang forever and I believe the benz electric cars are selling quite well
I’ll take a Mercedes starter model over 90% of cars made in America
Scary-Button1393@reddit
Lol I remember when Chrysler/Benz merger was supposed to fix Chrysler quality issues, instead, they started making shittier mercs.
You legit have to be dumb (or old) to buy a dodge/Chrysler.
Sure, Chrysler made the 300 less shitty, but that's one of out how many models? It was so bad they had to change the brand on their trucks to "Ram" because the Dodge brand is a synonym of "shitty"
Ok-Efficiency-5728@reddit
I've owned RAMs. Personally, I think they are the only thing chrysler ever made worth a damn. But YMMV.
mustangfan12@reddit
Yeah, most of their cars are crap now except for maybe the G class. Their interiors are just full of low quality materials, big screens, ambient lighting, and paino black. They only have 4 cylinder engines and a couple of inline 6s at the very top.
Ok-Efficiency-5728@reddit
Mercedes died when they killed the v12 in their cars.
jiggajawn@reddit
And then... there's the G63. The Jeep for rich people.
intertubeluber@reddit
They are SO dumb and I totally want one.
Wonderful_Device312@reddit
People either want ultra practical and affordable cars or the extreme opposite. Mercedes mostly builds impractical cars that don't really excite except for a few.
BTTWchungus@reddit
I didn't care for them at all until I sat in and drove one around
Really feels like a goddamn tank
cat_prophecy@reddit
Paraphrasing Richard Hammond: it's the only car that looks completely at home in a gravel quarry, at the nightclub valet, or pulling up to the Red carpet.
jiggajawn@reddit
Same. I joke with my buddies that if I won the lottery I'd build us a yurt village in the mountains and everyone gets a yurt and a G-wagon.
G0TouchGrass420@reddit
When did they have entry level cars? Lol
Scary-Button1393@reddit
You could get a base C class for around the same price as an accord.
tman2damax11@reddit
In the US Accord starts at $28k, C-Class starts at $48k? That’s not even remotely close.
Crybabyredditmod@reddit
They’ve sold a few shitbox models over the years.
NightFuryToni@reddit
Was about to say. Here in Canada even though we had the A-Class, but none of them were poverty spec to start with either.
Exodia101@reddit
They sold the A class in the US for a few years.
Historical_Cable9719@reddit
Makes sense. The A, CLA, GLA and GLB will be disproportionately impacted by tariff cost increases. It ruins the value proposition for entry into the brand.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit
They’ve already denied that it’s true
dsm582@reddit
GOOD
hillabilla@reddit
Most Americans can't afford an entry level Mercedes. People that are buying Mercedes cars are the ultra wealthy, and the rich people are going for the higher end luxury models.
OvONettspend@reddit
I see a lot of broke people with brand new A classes and CLAs
One_Opening_8000@reddit
You probably see a lot of broke people with AMG's, GLE's, GLS's and other models, but you just don't know it for sure.
BassWingerC-137@reddit
Honestly it would improve the breed.
oscik@reddit
So they killed the A-Class for nothing :(
pele4096@reddit
Mercedes makes entry level cars?
jse000@reddit
Relative to their other offerings, yes.
BMW doesn't only sell M cars. Audi doesn't only sell RS cars.
cryptobruih@reddit
Yeah that confused me. I guess they tried to mention about C and B segment cars by entry level. Because Mercedes doesn't have any "entry level" car.
nyanslider@reddit
Technically the cla and gla are entry, maybe the glb too. Doubt they touch the c class, unless they get rid of the base models.
