My Retro XP gaming pc (mid to late 2000s)

It just needs a few touches but pretty much complete. The pc is not connected to the internet, just pure gaming, listening to era appropriate songs and watching era appropriate tv shows. Pure nostalgia bliss. Brings back so many memories to the good old days of Windows XP.

The good ol’ days of UV … so superior to RGB! 😂

The only thing I haven't tried that you've mentioned is that plasma lighting tube. That UV reactive cable wrap is that only accessory I was able to keep from my late 2000s set-up.

I found a janky video with janky edits I took of it at the time and just uploaded it to YouTube.
Sadly, this was before I added the top fan with the LED patterns in the hub (haven't seen any like it since then), but fortunately, after I added the plasma lightning tube.
I did the best I could at the time cable management-wise by hiding all the extra wires under a piece of plastic at the bottom of the case which I had cut from a simple 2-pocket plastic folder ... then I discovered plastic dye and gave the keyboard, trackball, cables, drives, and blanks a coat of blue that, at the time, I thought matched the overall theme well.

Lucky you, My KBS-23 just died last year and I've been missing it.

Hopefully mine will last long. Really loving the keyboard so far.

so sigma, did u make sure to set up drivers tho? the computer itself looks to be relatively recent
schubaltz@reddit (OP)
Set what drivers? All parts in there has native windows xp support.
YoshiGuy561@reddit
drivers still need to be installed for everything to work esp on older systems like xp, they don't set themselves up like modern versions like windows 10. id reccomend sdi origin bc it does everything automatically as long as ur connected to the internet
schubaltz@reddit (OP)
Every part on that build has native win xp support so it's just a matter of going to each manufacturer website and downloading xp drivers there. All necessary drivers already installed.

nice, I'd renove one of the sticks of ram and have it as a spare/backup as you'll only get a max of 3gb.
love the build but

I love the blacklit computer, it is so cool!
schubaltz@reddit (OP)
Thanks! The acrylic is dark tinted so somewhat it does look like it has dark tones to it.
