Who wants Zaxbys

Ahh the joy of food delivery. When the places don’t clean up after closing and you have to navigate this quarantine zone. So, who’s hungry for Zaxby’s?

When you say they're closed; do you mean they're closed and the employees have gone home?
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
No after closing up for the day
HarambeWasTheTrigger@reddit
not the worst i've seen at all. as a firefighter I see a lot of kitchens & back of house areas on all of the bullshit commercial alarms we go to. I work in a fairly nice area with a lot of tourists that spend a ton during their visits- from my experience the 2-3 star joints that do tons of business tend to be the cleanest, and the worst tend to be eateries attached to nice golf courses that are only open seasonally and don't do much volume when they are open. the amount of rodent shit i've seen in some of those spots is quite impressive, i'm talking 3-5 years worth of buildup in hard to reach areas.
I try to stay out of the kitchens of my favorite places to eat- ignorance is Bliss.

There is a big difference between seeing this kind of shit during a busy shift and after close. Worked in a lot of restaurants in my day and never saw a close this bad.
nastyzoot@reddit
That isn't as bad as I imagined tbh.
question900@reddit
A lot of comments on how this is common in fast food. There are exceptions to every rule though, I bet there's a 0% chance you would ever find a Chick Fil A like this after closing time.
Calvertorius@reddit
Not a trucker here.
Are you saying that when you do food delivery to the restaurant, you also unload it yourself overnight while they’re closed?
DifficultyBig2280@reddit
Some places unload. When I worked for Starbucks years ago, the truck would come in the middle of the night and leave the milk pallets in the walk in for us
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
No, in food delivery we get there before the place opens up in morning and we have to unload it off the truck Some places are drop and go others you have to put in coolers etc
oasuke@reddit
I did food service delivery for many fast food restaurants(subway, checkers, captain D's). this isn't uncommon.
BigSchmitty@reddit
Foodservice truck driver here…the restaurants with the nicest dining area are the worst in the kitchen. The old raggedy mom and pop places are usually pretty clean, despite being old.
Hurricaneshand@reddit
God damn. I worked Zaxbys for longer than I would like to admit and I always felt like ours was pretty bad. There is no way my manager would've let us go home with it looking like this lol
Cardinal_350@reddit
I've been inside over 700 McDonald's locations. There's ones you could eat off the floor in the ghetto and ones I wouldn't have an enemy eat from in a rich neighborhood. Also goes for the opposite. All depends on the operator of the store and how much they give a shit. I tell people not to eat fast food anywhere in a city with over 15,000 people. Almost across the board small town stores are cleaner. Again a outlier here and there
SpaceCowboy433@reddit
Do you want ants? Cuz this is how you get ants!
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
Ahh Archer reference hahaha

I worked at a brand new Zaxby's in 2000. We scrubbed and polished every inch twice daily. We took extreme amount pride in cleanliness and service. Especially for a bunch of teenagers making $7/hr.
One thing they could have done is offer competitive pay, promotions, benefits, and retirement for those kids. The place would still be shining bright.
But where is the profit in that?
snarksneeze@reddit
Same. I was on the crew that opened our local Zaxbys and we didn't leave until everything was spotless each night. We started prepping early, so it wasn't a shock to everyone. We let people go home after each job was completed, so if you busted your ass you got to go first, it was fun and we took pride in how clean our place was even a year after it opened.
GlomBastic@reddit
A lot of my work ethic comes from that year frying chicken and working the drive thru. Passed on to my other occupations, through like minded coworrkers to teach and learn from. Then trucking, where I put those simple lessons together.
If these pictures are where the young are building from..
If these
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
This is every Wednesday when we deliver Our home office tells us take pictures just to cover our ass if someone gets hurt
Late-Recognition5587@reddit
Mine too lol. Also had a customer say we were bringing mice in. I deliver sealed milk. Our depot is so clean I could eat off the floor. We have to decontaminate empty crates entering the depot.
Btomesch@reddit
Show us video of you eating off the floor then and we’ll believe it
Late-Recognition5587@reddit
Lol. I wouldn't believe videos. AI is pretty good at faking those.
But they use the floor scrubber 3 times a day. The walls, beams and lights get cleaned every 3 months. It's clean. Restaurants, look like they get cleaned once every new term of government.
Riyeko@reddit
Dude is be emailing the health department....
Specialist-Ad8467@reddit
You work for PFG?
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
lol how can you tell
austindiorr@reddit
I worked for pfg for 4 months and after seeing those nasty places i never ate Popeyes or churches ever again, shake shack was always clean
hugothebear@reddit
I still want some zaxbys though
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
With or without the violent nightmares And explosive diarrhea?
hugothebear@reddit
How about the nightmares without the diarrhea?
Or vise versa
K1d-ego@reddit
I’d be calling the health department lol
Bigcockmcghee@reddit
I did that before on a customer I delivered food to, she called in on me saying “I was throwing soda bibs and destroying them” so I called the health department on them for mold concerns, they’ve lost a shit ton of business.
clairered27@reddit
Hey just a heads up make sure when you share stuff like this be careful I've seen a few drivers get fired because of it.
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
True
taco_2325@reddit
Food service gang 💪 👊🏼 but totally agree some kitchens are dumps.
ItsSugarbear@reddit
This is why i don't eat Pei Wei.
Auquaholic@reddit
Gross.
OneLegWonderBoy@reddit
ive eaten an ungodly amount of zaxbys in my life. this hurt me at my core.
NorthOld6237@reddit (OP)
You eat here, it definitely will
CaptianBrasiliano@reddit
Different but the same... I spent a lot of time in Krogers back rooms... you see some pretty disgusting things considering all the food that will ever go in your house goes through there.
N661US@reddit
I do food service too and the amount of health code violations I see everyday is nuts lol
12InchPickle@reddit
I question how well they even clean.
Naborsx21@reddit
That's the neat part, they don't.
Linfords_lunchbox@reddit
I'd post those pictures anonymously on the Google reviews of the store in question.
As someone who used to work in the restaurant industry, that's totally unacceptable.
chrisjayyyy@reddit
here’s a zoomed in shot of the Grill so you can see it a bit better
