Realistic_Cover8925@reddit
Easily the best livery on any plane right now. Insane.
DienbienPR@reddit
Yeah…..boxes don’t complain
Strict_Lettuce3233@reddit
And they are still strapping their shizzle down…
DienbienPR@reddit
Engineering school with 3 guys that work for cargolux…..fun people. One ate cereal with beer. Great company.
Child_of_Khorne@reddit
They sound like a trip to work with lmao
DienbienPR@reddit
Forget to mention that one of the guys was wearing speedos at a pool party and OMG……was NOT a pretty sight…he looked like poorly wrapped sausage.lmao
PizzaStack@reddit
The people expecting said boxes do however complain if they don't get them in time haha
sadpancreas@reddit
Man the 747s are such beautiful planes. My dad flew these for nearly 20 years and I got the opportunity to be a passenger once. 9 year old me couldn’t believe that there were beds in there!
Strict_Lettuce3233@reddit
I lived the same life at 9. Parallel worlds. 747 fedx 70’s, 80’s
sadpancreas@reddit
Only 20-30 years apart! I went early 2000’s on a 747-400 Cargolux.
Strict_Lettuce3233@reddit
Unbelievable machines in amaze me how they can even possibly make something like this. I flew with my dad on training missions and stuff like that. It was so weird to see a huge plane like that almost effortlessly scoot into the year at nine and 10 years old. And even better when I was older because I used to look through his manuals to learn different systems. The manuals were like 6 inches thick and he had a whole library full of them.
AboveAverage1988@reddit
"Cargolux 1234 runway 24 cleared for takeoff, caution wake turbulence behind departing Cessna 150."
brandnewbanana@reddit
(for anyone curious about the prop wash warning)
waby-saby@reddit
I used to fly out of Redlands when Norton AFB was active.
I'd (pretty much every time) say:
"Skyhawk 52434 Heavy on the ground at Redlands Navel Air Station...."
PixelPusher__@reddit
Love the Cargolux liveries.
banshee43@reddit
While taxiing I believe plane should curtsy to each other. Few inches down on the front wheel and a some leading edge flap action should do the trick.
Luxdrayke@reddit
Such a cool looking plane!
Legitimate_Delay2226@reddit
“Your majesty…🙂↕️”
slyskyflyby@reddit
Meanwhile when my father-in-law and I met at an airport (him in a 747 and me in a C-17) we raced to see who could preflight the fastest and ended up chasing each other down to the end of the runway but I ended up getting a back taxi instruction so the runway was mine first. I have a video of us racing that I send him once in a while to remind him I beat him.
longlife55@reddit
We want to see the video
slyskyflyby@reddit
I would share it in this thread but I guess I'll have to make a separate post since they don't have photo/video commenting enabled.
longlife55@reddit
I think story like this deserves a post of its own. Please do share the link here, once you have posted..so others can go see. Looking forward.

This made my day 😂😂
Caspi7@reddit
Damn how cool is that
GhostPepperDaddy@reddit
He married his wife just to have that moment to share with everyone he meets.
W00DERS0N60@reddit
How many kids do you have?
Horus107@reddit
Haste makes waste, wouldn't want to see my pilot race through the preflight checks...
slyskyflyby@reddit
If the checks are complete what does it matter if it's done quickly or not?
Horus107@reddit
Because of the if. Doing stuff hastily increases probability of errors.
slyskyflyby@reddit
We also have timelines we have to meet. There's balance between getting it done quickly and getting it done slowly. We also can't do it slowly because we'd always be late. There's nothing wrong with trying to increase the speed at which you can accomplish preflight checks. It's pretty governed by a checklist anyway, if you follow the checklist it doesn't matter how fast you do it, you will still have accomplished what must be done.
FlyByPC@reddit
Better to have him deal with your wake turbulence than the other way around.
CeleritasLucis@reddit
That's a huge flex on FIL. Kudos man
slyskyflyby@reddit
Yeah but he flies a plane that bigger and faster than haha
a_scientific_force@reddit
Mostly his bigger paycheck. And you being limited by how slow your loadmaster is going to drag their feet.
slyskyflyby@reddit
Yeah, fortunately I'm a guard bum so I'm hoping to make the jump here soon 🤞🏻
Fabulous-Bother8981@reddit
Are those Rolls Royce rb211s on the 747-400F?
fly_banana_fly@reddit
I didn't see it flash Its high beams, I think you cut him off. /s
DBFargie@reddit
The 747 is the most beautiful non-military jet ever. Change my mind.
bigbang_om@reddit
Lol I was tracking this one yesterday/day before. Believe it flew from Pakistan to Seoul. This might be the flight from Seoul.
Inevitable-Flan-967@reddit
What a beaut
Arthur_the_Pilote@reddit
I’ve worked for them (internship) and they are a super nice company. They have around 40 747 (400-F and 8-F).
jutct@reddit
I mean, ground would have told them to hold, but ...
beach_2_beach@reddit
Cargo can always wait for passenger.
Murpet@reddit
“Korean 223, what are you doing? You were to hold and follow the Cargolux 74!”
“Nah it’s cool bruv, he waved us on in front”
TigerUSA20@reddit (OP)
We are UA 892, but yes. Thanks for the wave: 👋🏻
UnreasoningOptimism@reddit
Murpet's point is the cargolux didn't ~allow~ your crew to do anything, the tower controller is calling the sequence
smarmageddon@reddit
Impressive! Every week or two i see (or just hear) an Asiana Cargo 747 about 4k ft over my house. Always forget how big those birds are!
Crazy__Donkey@reddit
Naa, she took the time to put some lipstick before the date.
Sketchy_Uncle@reddit
Such a good looking plane.
ear2theshell@reddit
Big up top with narrow hips and a phat tail, just the way I like my cargo planes
clarksworth@reddit
747s and Helvetica - name a better combo (for graphic designers)
Lpolyphemus@reddit
Shorts 360 and Comic Sans.
Exilewhat@reddit
I guffawed. We had a shorts 360 going into and out of where I did my flight training all the time and I thought that was ugly.
Sensitive_Pudding599@reddit
Cutie
Thund3r_91@reddit
747 is a beauty
whale-tail@reddit
Watched a 747F take off from ORD at sunset last night. Gonna be sad when they're all gone, at least we've got them for another few decades
Cesalv@reddit
After seeing massive ones on 777s, those engines looks tiny
JF0909@reddit
Maybe the 747 just got out of the pool
BigGrayBeast@reddit
I've been assured size doesn't count.
Ready_Freddy123@reddit
All about thrust power.
BrewCityChaserV2@reddit
Rolls Royce engines concur.
Vaerktoejskasse@reddit
To be fair, the controller saves the extra wake turbulence seperation required behind the heavy. On top of that, a 747 is not the most expeditious of aircraft when it comes to ground movement.
DrewOH816@reddit
Hey, how can you be on April 3rd?! Are you from the "future?" Got any stock tips, Lotto numbers? /s
Cool share, thanks and safe travels!
blastcat4@reddit
What a classic beauty! I appreciate all the cargo carriers who still fly the queen.
Smakkatosh@reddit
I'm at Incheon right now and it's still April 2nd, this person got a video from the future.
TigerUSA20@reddit (OP)
Oops you’re right. My internal calendar has been messed up for two weeks between US and Asia
