Why?
Food is mid at best
The no frills things like hot dogs and ice cream are good for cost
The rest - very mid

I live in a country with no IKEA so visited while in Tokyo recently. Food was awful.

This place is called IKEA

Isn't that how it works? I can just walk into my local Ikea store, go straight to the restaurant, eat there and then leave.

Yeah, but you're expected to browse the furniture on the way to the restaurant.

I guess it depends on the particular store, but here, you're not expected to do anything. There's a way directly to the restaurant straight from the entrance. You don't have to browse anything if you don't want to.
