Taurus 856 TORO 38 Spl 3'' 6-Rd Revolver

Good price for a 6 shot revolver. I have the Taurus 905 which is a snubby, 9mm revolver.
It’s smaller and more concealable and is chambered in the preferable 9mm, but it was more expensive and only holds 5 rounds.
Revolvers have a heavier double action trigger than pistols do, so it will take a lot of practice to learn how to be a good shot.

How do you find the 9mm recoil? I’d love to not increase my ammo stream but would like a revolver
baxterstate@reddit
I have a Ruger LC9s which is about the same size as my 9mm snubby but a few ounces lighter.
Despite being lighter, the pistol has less felt recoil than my revolver. It’s probably due to much of the recoil is soaked up by the slide ejection of the spent shell and chambering a new round.
I don’t know how 9mm recoil compares with 38 special. I went with a 9mm revolver because I’d read the ballistics were similar and I didn’t want to buy into another caliber if I could help it.
I enjoy playing with my revolver at the range, but I edc with either the 9mm LC9s or the 380 LCP 2. Both have been very reliable and easy to take down for cleaning and lubing.
Even though both pistols have been upstaged by higher capacity pistols of the same size and calibers, I haven’t replaced them.

Thanks that fits with my understanding. I think I want a 5 shot 38 special to reduce recoil for a really easy conceal

That revolver on sale will probably have less felt recoil than my snubby because the barrel is an inch shorter and the cylinder is bigger to accommodate 6 rounds instead of 5.
7ddlysuns@reddit
For sure! Just larger than I wanted even if the price seems really good

I have more revolvers than any other type of firearm. In 22 lr alone I have 5. Revolvers are especially good for 22lr because if the primer doesn’t ignite, just pull the trigger again.
In a semi auto pistol a bad primer will cause a jam and you’ll have to manually eject the round before you can shoot again.

What’s your favorite in 38 or 357?
puffinfish420@reddit
Best .357 is the S&W 627 pro series, IMO. I got one on sale over Xmas for around $650 after rebate, but a Holosun 507Comp on it, and love it

I don’t have any 38 special or 357 of my own; only fired a few rounds from a friend’s handguns. Not enough to form an opinion except that 357 was very snappy.
If I had a lever action in 357, I’d probably get a revolver chambered in 357/38 special.

I don't know why, but your comment reads like an AI wrote it.
baxterstate@reddit
What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully?
Tough_Education_5377@reddit
Oh no, I'm not teaching you how to sound more human. Dirty clanker.
baxterstate@reddit
Well, I’m not AI, but since I can’t prove a negative, I won’t try to.
I guess there’s no use trying to get on your good side.

Baxterstate GP show me a picture of a Taurus 9mm 38sp hybrid revolver 11 round capacity

The second and third lines is what makes it read like an AI. It almost always follows the following:

But you can tell this was a person since AI almost never says they own anything (for now)

Oh i agree with you and I know why, but I also don't want to educate the bots.

Doesn’t 9mm in a revolver require moon clips though ?
baxterstate@reddit
I was using the moon clips, but after a year, the revolver has loosened up to the point where the spent shells drop out on their own. I found it was unpleasant to load the moon clips. They’re made of thin metal and sometimes cut my fingers.

I have this. Very fun. A recommended novelty.

That's what a bot would say
