This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions suitable for here:
- Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
- I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?
- I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case ≤$50

Can I have front and side intake fans at the same time? Or will they interfere with each other? Planning to use a Corsair 7000D with a top mounted 420mm radiator. That combined with a fan on the back for exhaust makes me think the fans on the front won’t be enough to get positive pressure.
n7_trekkie@reddit
yeah, id call it ideal
supanutz@reddit
Sorry, I just want to make sure I understand correctly. You’re saying that having both front and side intake fans is ideal?
n7_trekkie@reddit
Right
supanutz@reddit
Excellent, thank you :)
GolemancerVekk@reddit
Stop worrying about pressure, it's really pointless. Accumulation of dust depends on:

Hi,
First timer here. Trying to build my first gaming PC. How does this setup look? Thanks in advance:
• CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X (8 cores, 16 threads, 4.5 GHz base, 5.4 GHz boost, 105W TDP)

What's your budget for the build? Where are you located? Unless you need it for AI or it's your only option at a "decent" price, the 4060 Ti isn't the best choice out there (granted, considering the current state of the GPU market).
DefundGaming@reddit
Budget: no more than $1500 Location: AZ
djGLCKR@reddit
This is what I would go with. Cheaper CPU, cooler, RAM kit, and case, upgrading the storage to 2TB, and replacing the GPU with a 7700 XT at a "decent" price (and with MH: Wilds).
You could also wait for the new -60 class cards to be announced (AMD's 9060/9060 XT and Nvidia's 5060/5060 Ti), although we have no definitive info on when will it happen (Nvidia is rumored to announce them in a couple of weeks, no clue about AMD), let alone if the available stock will last more than 3 seconds.
DefundGaming@reddit
I already ordered some components but planning on upgrading later. How do you see my setup? In your opinion, will it work well?
djGLCKR@reddit
Some things can be changed here and there, depending on what you've already ordered.
Overall it'll work, but the 4060 Ti (both 8 and 16GB models) isn't a card you'd normally recommend unless CUDA/AI is a must, the card's "normal" price is one of its problems since you can get better performing cards for about the same price if not cheaper. The gist is to get the best GPU you can get with about a third of your budget (or close to half if possible), then continue choosing your parts from there.
Also, if you've yet to buy the GPU and following the heads-up from the other comment, this 7800 XT is just a tad more expensive but offers \~20% more performance than the 7700 XT.
DefundGaming@reddit
So, I decided to make some changes, and spend a bit more, as follows: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DefundGaming/saved/p9XqhM
Does this look better. Disregard the monitor for the moment.
djGLCKR@reddit
Night and day compared to the previous one, but if it's meant for 1080p, it's insanely overkill. I'd be looking at a high refresh rate 1440p display or even 4K if you don't mind using DLSS. $1K+ for a 5070 Ti is still overpriced and more like a 5080, MSRP is $750 (granted, good luck finding an MSRP card nowadays). If you can get a 9070 XT as close to $600-700 as possible, that'd be a cheaper option.
A few things to consider:
Updated list.
DefundGaming@reddit
I have already ordered the 7700XT, the 4060Ti, the TEAMGROUP MP44L 1TB & the Fractal Design Meshify 2 case.
MarxistMan13@reddit
$473 for a 7700XT doesn't make any sense when the 7800XT is just a bit more.
djGLCKR@reddit
Oh shoot I completely missed that $500 7800 XT, thanks for the heads-up.

Looking to build my first gaming pc. Contemplating between the ryzen 7 9700x or the ryzen 7 7800x3d. Gpu currently looking at either the 5070 or 5070ti. Any advices on which cpu preferred?
Alasio@reddit
9700X + 5070 Ti would be the pick. Even a 7600X CPU would be more than enough for the vast majority of gamers.
RVsSeulgi@reddit
May I know why is 9700x your choice over 7800x3d?
Alasio@reddit
Actually even a 7600X is enough. The 7700X has more cores but currently aren't really fully utilized in games so it only has slightly better performance than the 7600X. The 9700X is very similar to the 7700X but has better power efficiency.
So for games, 60 FPS is the gold standard, 90-120 FPS is the premium experience. Competitive gamers (Games like CS2, Fortnite, Apex) like to have FPS in the range of 200+ but those are only beneficial for <1% of people. Let's take a look at 7800X3D benchmarks (This is for the 9800X3D but it includes the 7800X3D and 9700X inside). For 1440p, the 7800X3D averages 156.8 FPS and the 9700X averages 148.3 FPS. Both of these are above the 120 FPS boundary. Furthermore, the 7800X3D is only about 5% better than the 9700X (On average. For certain games, the difference may be greater but at the same time, the 9700X will already meet all your needs). Also note how the 7600X averages at 146.2 FPS.
So if there isn't that much difference in performance and both are more than good enough for games, how much is the price difference? The extra money is better put to get the 5070 Ti over the 5070 to get the 16 GB VRAM and more raw GPU performance.
The X3D does shine in having better 1% lows, that I can admit. But again it is not worth the extra price because anything above 60 FPS is already an excellent gaming experience. Many people won't even be able to tell when we get into the range of 90 FPS.
RVsSeulgi@reddit
back to the gpu option, if my current monitor is supporting only up to 1080p, would it still make sense to get the 5070ti or the 5070 should be fine since it's optimal for playing on a 1080p monitor?
Alasio@reddit
If you plan to stick to 1080p and don’t see yourself upgrading, the 5070 is more than plenty. There’s unlikely to be any benefit to getting the Ti for 1080p, especially since there’s a considerable difference in price between them.
RVsSeulgi@reddit
Then may I know if I’m getting the 5070 gpu, is it an overkill getting the 9800x3d instead of the 7800x3d?
cursedpanther@reddit
For gaming, 7800X3D.
RVsSeulgi@reddit
Then may I know if I’m getting the 5070 gpu, is it an overkill getting the 9800x3d instead of the 7800x3d?
cursedpanther@reddit
7800X3D is more than enough to handle a 5070.

Hello there, my psu died and i have around 300$ to spend. So for a psu i am thinking to get a MSI A850GL II 850W 80 Plus Gold, so i can use it for a next upgrade (in a year or two). What do i spend the remaining half on? I am thinking about getting 64gb ram. My current rig is i9 10850K with corsair AIO, RTX3080, Asus z490 prime, and 16gb G.skill Ripjaws. I have to spend the 300 at once cuz its a value coupon. So is ram the best upgrade or theres something better that i could get?
GolemancerVekk@reddit
Does it have to be that PSU model?
You don't need to spend $150 on the PSU, something like the Montech Century G5 or GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-850G are also tier B, they're $100 and arguably slightly better. Or, if you want a tier A PSU, the ADATA XPG Core Reactor II 850W is $120, or for $150 you can get the 1000W model.
I've been enjoying having 64GB a lot. I never have to think about RAM now. With 32GB there were slight annoyances that popped up every once in a while, nothing now.
RAM and PSU sounds great. If I had a coupon I'd also look at upgrading as many fans as I could to Noctua.
Another idea would be to upgrade SSDs/M.2 drives to a larger size (assuming you need it).
If you upgrade and take out any M.2 SSD consider getting an USB enclosure for it, something like an Orico, just make sure it fits the type of M.2 you take out (NVMe vs SATA). They make for great USB "sticks".
sh00kat@reddit
I have a prebuilt and i have an inwin a65e power supply, I was wondering if this was the same as the normal inwin a power supplies.
GolemancerVekk@reddit
It is not, the A series is very low quality, quite a bit lower than InWin's usual PSU that are sold separately. They're typically found in prebuilts but should be replaced immediately.
If you're looking to replace it it would help if you tell us what CPU and GPU you use, and what country you're in, or a link to a local online store that sells PSU so we can compare stock and prices. Also how much money you're willing to spend on this.
solthedoggg@reddit
Hi I have a question please, about a year ago my pc stopped working. I took it into a shop and they said they tested the complements and found my motherboard to be the issue. I used that opportunity to upgrade my build from a i5 11400 to a Ryzen 5 7600. I’ve had the old ram, cpu and AIO sitting around for the last year in a cupboard but I’ve decided to build my brother a pc using my old parts. How likely is it that the old parts still work? Even after the motherboard being fried and them doing nothing for a year? Thanks :)
Protonion@reddit
Sitting for a year (or a decade) doesn't do anything to the parts, so what will work and what won't depends entirely on what was originally broken.
GolemancerVekk@reddit
Capacitors start degrading after 3 years unused.
Full-Resolution9449@reddit
lol what? they degrade over time , period. It's based on temperature and also voltage being used, the higher the temperature the shorter the lifespan, meaning if they are being used they have less lifespan, if you keep them in a cold room they will last a crazy long time , if you use half the rated voltage then they also will last about twice as long , that kind of thing
GolemancerVekk@reddit
PSU capacitors enter accelerated degradation after roughly 3 years of not being in use.

Would you guys say $475 for a new 7800 xt is a good deal?
Full-Resolution9449@reddit
well it's not bad.. but i don't know if it would be considered good, they have always been around $500. The issue is see what else is around the same price, like 7900gre was about 550 for example and it's better, so it's worth the little extra $ , do some research
Fidelroyolanda_IV@reddit
I know about the gre. It costs around 650 here.
Alasio@reddit
Kinda depends on what everything else costs there. Let's say for the 9070 or the 5070?
Fidelroyolanda_IV@reddit
There's a used 6800 xt for 400, though.
Alasio@reddit
Save $75 (\~15%) for about 10% less performance and lose out on warranty also? Not really worth it I'd say.
You'd want to save at least 20% just for it being used and not having warranty, on top of the lowered performance. So maybe if it was $350 instead.
Fidelroyolanda_IV@reddit
900 and 1100, respectively. That's a tad bit over my budget, I fear.
Alasio@reddit
Then yeah the 7800XT would be a good choice at that price.
bluburuberi@reddit
If I can get the 9070XT and 5070Ti for the same price, which would be better? Main use is productivity
Alasio@reddit
5070 Ti, no contest.

Hello all! Looking to upgrade current setup for gaming. Currently two options for CPU are 7800X3D + motherboard bundle for around 385 USD, or 9800X3D for 514 USD alone. Mainly play World of Warcraft at the moment so wanted to know if the 9800X3D is worth the extra price. Thanks!
Alasio@reddit
Nope, get the 7800X3D.
yzyork133@reddit
Got it thanks!
Owlface@reddit
The 7800x3d is way better value for money but the 9800x3d will provide some nice uplift in the more demanding moments and smooth out your experience.
yzyork133@reddit
Well noted. Thank you for the reply!

My nephew built a new computer this past weekend. It's an AM4 build on a b450 mobo, with an 5600x and an RX 580 video card. I'm thinking of pointing him to an RTX 5070 as those seem to be more available than anything else and it would be a massive step up from the RX 580. He also has 1080p screens at the moment. He was interested in a b580, whatever the new card from Intel is, but it had a $150 premium - $400 instead of $250, so I talked him out of that for now. I'd love to hear opinions on GPU things, even given the tariffs and everything else. I'm not even sure if he'd want to spend $550, so this might just be academic.
Alasio@reddit
The beauty about 1080p is that it is very easily playable for many cards. The RX580 will likely be showing its age around now. You're right that the B580 is not worth that premium, at most you should be paying $300 for it because otherwise you would rather just get the RTX 4060. Which is already a great card for 1080p. Another option would be the 7600XT but I do not recommend it anymore purely due to the lack of FSR4.
Basically, the 5070 is a great pick and can be found for MSRP quite easily now but if it's too expensive, the 4060 would do nicely. My recommendation now is towards Nvidia due to DLSS. My 2060 Super was able to play MH Wilds (Which is known to be badly optimized for PC) on 1080p smoothly thanks to DLSS. AMD's FSR4 is locked to their newest cards so the 7000 Series and 6000 Series aren't that good unless there is a massive price difference.

April 5th is when most of the tariffs announced today take effect. How much that impacts consumer prices is unknown. Best case is that retailers will sell their existing inventory at pre-tariff prices, then raise prices once they restock.

I am building a PC for my brother. This includes installing Windows 11 and the necessary drivers. Is it possible to do that without going through the account creation part of setup? I don't know his Microsoft account details, and I don't want to enter mine, and I don't want to just hand him assembled hardware without an OS installed and make him do that on his own. I have Googled this, but all I get back is a lot of "this is how you create disk images for mass deployment" results which is not this situation at all.
djGLCKR@reddit
If asking for his credentials is not possible, create a local account via the "new method", now that OOBE\BYPASSNRO is patched.
During the post-install W11 setup (the "out-of-the-box experience"), once you reach the screen that asks if you want to install a secondary keyboard layout, STOP THERE, press Shift + F10 to open a CMD prompt, and type "start ms-cxh:localonly" (without quotes).
If Shift + F10 doesn't work, press Ctrl+Shift+J to open the developer console and type "WinJS.Application.restart("ms-cxh://LOCALONLY")" (without the outermost quotes).

Hello there!
I want to build a good PC for gaming and Unity development. Currently I've been having a hard time choosing, because I've stopped building PCs a long time ago. Can you guys help me a bit?
First: should I go AMD or Intel? Based on that, which motherboard? And finally, which GPU? I think those are the most important questions, and the rest I'm more than knowledgeable to answer. Ah, I want a good GPU, but nothing close to those +1k boards. So something mid-to-top range, but not too expensive! Thanks!

Im building a pc for the first time and i’m concerned that my psu and gpu aren’t compatible due to the 5070 using a 16 pin connector. How do I know that my psu and gpu will be compatible? Ive already built it on pcpartpicker and no errors came up but i’m worried i don’t have the right psu for my gpu
ZeroPaladn@reddit
If the PSU claims it's ATX 3.0/3.1 then it comes with the 12V6x2 cable you need to plug it in.
If it doesn't, or you're using an older PSU, the GPU will come with an adapter in the box that will work with anything that would have powered a PC 5 years ago.
Adventurous-Box4585@reddit
Oh okay thanks, so as long as the psu has a 12v 6+2 pin connecter im good?

Is a 5070 a good 1440p card? (Coming from 5600xt) I’ve been waiting on prices to be closer to msrp for the 9070xt and 5070ti but the only thing I’ve seen that’s close to msrp is the 5070. Am I just better off waiting and go for the 9070xt? Budget rn is at $800usd. I am preferably want a white gpu for aesthetic purposes but at this point I’m starting not to care anymore lol
ZeroPaladn@reddit
The 5070 is kind of boring when compared to last gen and if the 9070XT ever shows up near MSRP it's always the better grab.
However, that's not the market we're in right now and if the 5070 is the only card near it's $600 launch price for you and the alternatives are out to lunch it's still a great 1440p card.

FamishedHippopotamus@reddit
No, it's fine--that's exactly why they include the adapters. I'm using my 4090 with the 12VHPWR to 4x 8-pin PCIe power adapter that came with the card since I don't have an ATX 3.0 PSU either. No issues.

Build my first PC April 2024. It wasn’t honestly on a budget but fitted my recommends. I build it as a complete pc noob. Been a Playstationplayer since a kid. Now I wanted to ask what to focus on improvement. I’m using that for work (HO) and the main screen for gaming. Running all from CS to newest triple A.
What I got: • 32GB RAM • AMD Ryzen 5 5600 • 8GB XFX Radeon RX 6650 XT Speedster •ASUS TUF Gaming B550- Plus Mainboard
Please Note im a complete Noob! Don’t use complex builder language 😂 thank you!
ZeroPaladn@reddit
Concrete as is! Improvements include:
X3D CPU that slides into your motherboard. 5800X3D used, or 5700X3D brand new. Gets you 2 more cores and a fuckton of extra cache that a lot of games crave.
GPU upgrade. Depending on what kind of cash you're working with, consider a GPU upgrade. Unless you've got up to a grand to throw at this, wait because new xx60-series cards are coming in a month or two - wait for those. If you do have a glut of cash to spend, see what new options like the 5070/Ti or 9070/XT run you.
If you upgrade the GPU, look to a new monitor. A big GPU will overwhelm a 1080p monitor and you'll waste it's potential. Look for a 1440p165 or 180Hz panel to round out that extra GPU horsepower.
If you need more SSD space, get more! That motherboard has a few extra slots for NVMe drives, just buy a new drive and slide it in!
CryptographerDry3787@reddit
SSDs are fine for now! Thanks, I’m gonna focus on that CPU. Is it always worth to sell the “old” parts? Do they sell actually?
ZeroPaladn@reddit
There's always a market for used parts - what is not meeting your needs will happily satisfy someone else, and they'll happily take the discount!
Like I said in my previous comment - look to the used market for one of your upgrade options! The 5800X3D isn't available new anymore but there's people who are moving on to newer platforms that are offloading those chips for people like yourself to consider!
CryptographerDry3787@reddit
Thank you! Those GPUs costs 🫠 but the CPU should be no problem at all, especially when I can get that old one to sell.

Looking to replace my AIO because I feel like my current one isn’t enough to keep my CPU cool. Not to mention the fans are so loud when it hits over 50% usage. Preferably not something too expensive.
Current set up: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, ASUS B650-E Mobo, 2x16gb G.Skill RAM, 1TB SSD, Lian Li O11 Vision Case, HYTE Q60 THICC liquid cooling system, and x4 NZXT RGB fans.
UnderstandingSea2127@reddit
Are you sure, that the problem is AIO? It seems pretty THICC🤭
It could be just poorly installed or you are running CPU overclock.
Check the reviews for your CPU and see what temps they've got, minus ambient.
Fans getting loud is normal too - you can adjust the curves if you want them to be quiet.
murdercolorlips@reddit
I definitely didn’t overclock my CPU. I don’t even trust myself to do that 😅 I’ll check it out! It’s tough because not too many people have this AIO. I just figured maybe I needed a triple fan AIO
UnderstandingSea2127@reddit
This AIO seems high-performance and maybe comparable to a regular 360 AIO. Although, if you can find reviews - maybe they tell otherwise.
Some motherboards can overclock CPUs and RAM out of the box - maybe yours is running like that without you changing anything. Check your BIOS manual, if there are some functions like that enabled.
You can try reseating the AIO on CPU - check if the thermal paste is in OK condition and there is enough pressure applied for a good contact and heat transfer.
You can also check if your AIO works as intended if you touch the pipes - one of them should be warmer. If one if them is very hot - there might be a problem.
There might be a clog in the AIO radiator or pump - then the circulation will be very poor and the heat won't transfer to the radiator.

My friend gave me an unused Meshlicious ITX case.
I bought an A620i ITX board (PCI-E 4.0) and a B580 (PCI-E 4.0) GPU.
It turns out the riser cable in the case is PCI-E 3.0. Will this be an issue? Do I need to buy a new riser cable?
Vliott@reddit
This may be an entirely stupid question, but I'm not 100% sure so thought I may as well ask.
If I use two monitors at 1920x1080, would that have the same affect on my GPU/general computer performance as using 1 monitor at 3840x2160?
kaje@reddit
No, 3840 x 2160 = 4 x 1920 x 1080. 2 would only half of that.
Vliott@reddit
Well, gaming stuff is only ever on the main 1920 monitor, but I've currently got a Panasonic TV as my 2nd monitor that is at 3840x2160 standard, but I did notice some dips in performance since I started using it. I've since dropped its resolution down to 1920 and it seems to have stopped.
The eventual plan is to have three 1920 monitors for normal use, and then have the TV on a smart plug just for videos or movies, it wouldn't be used at the same time as the others.
Vliott@reddit
So its based on the total pixel count overall, not dimension specific?
EndTheEnd@reddit
Another quick question - I've installed, updated windows, looks like MSI launched a driver install on its own, and now I installed recommended AMD adrenalin software - am I g2g on drivers? Is amd adrenalin gonna.keep my drivers up to date? Sorry for maybe newb questions, it's 1st time I'm ever on anything different than intel+geforce
ZeroPaladn@reddit
Everything except GPU drivers are basically set. The GPU will get periodic updates through Adrenalin and will either prompt you to install updates or will do it itself if you set it to.
As for the MSI Installer - get rid of that, you don't need it.

Coatsyx@reddit
Ty boss I shall ask over there
Guy_with_Numbers@reddit
I can't decide on a GPU. I game a lot, but am starting a career in AI and would ideally want a PC that fares well there. What should I get, given their cost/performance tradeoffs?
ZeroPaladn@reddit
If those are your prices locally, double check if your model/platform runs on AMD cards. The extra VRAM on the 9070 XT would be nice while not paying a 25% premium for the 5070 Ti, but won't be useful if your platform doesn't run or runs poorly on RDNA4.
Guy_with_Numbers@reddit
The problem there is that none of the work I've done so far has really been complex enough to make such an assessment.
ZeroPaladn@reddit
Then sadly, the "safe" pickup is the 5070Ti. 16GB of VRAM and no concerns about model/engine compatibility has a hefty price tag.
Guy_with_Numbers@reddit
Looks like that's what I'm going for. Better to buy it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.
reckless150681@reddit
Oh man. None of those, those prices are pretty brutal.
If you're starting a career in AI, is there an option to use company money?
Guy_with_Numbers@reddit
The sad thing is that those are actually pretty good prices, almost all 5070 ti models actually go for over $1150.
Still job hunting, so no company help here. Though I'm lucky enough to say that the costs themselves are bearable, I just don't want to waste money unnecessarily.
reckless150681@reddit
I would very hesitatingly go with the 5070 then. Best value, is Nvidia for if you need Green technology, and has...a borderline acceptable amount of VRAM.

Building my first desktop in nearly 2 decades. Between different GPU power connector options and ATX/ATX3.0/3.1 standards, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Build is as follows:
Any suggestions or advice are welcome.
Protonion@reddit
The new GPU power connectors are only used by certain latest NVIDIA cards, and the ATX3.0/ATX3.1 stuff really doesn't make any difference that you should be worried about, especially as you won't be using the new 12VHPWR GPU connector. Practically all recent quality PSUs in the market include the new connector and in conjunction also meet the new ATX specs anyways.
ZeroPaladn@reddit
The new GPU power connectors are used by all 50-series Nvidia cards, and some 9070-series cards too.
ZeroPaladn@reddit
For all intents and purposes, ATX 3.0 and ATX 3.1 is the same cable (12V12x6) just a different connector revision on the GPU end. Getting any ATX 3.x PSU will do the job. 9070 XTs mostly ship with the older PCIe 8pin connectors unless you're looking at Sapphire. If you're buying the PSU now because of a sale or good deal, just make sure it has enough PCIe 6+2/8pin connectors alongside the ATX 3.x 12V2x6 cable as to satisfy any card you'd end up picking up.
zeponx@reddit
I bought an Acer Nitro KG270X1 27" for around 110$ US, (200hz 1920x1080). I'm just wondering if this is an amazing find because I'm wondering if I could have found anything cheaper.
ZeroPaladn@reddit
It's an older model, but that's a nice find still.
zeponx@reddit
Was there anything cheaper? And how old exactly?
ZeroPaladn@reddit
Without knowing your exact region and what the market is like, I can't speculate about whether or not you simply got a "good" deal or if you should just keep running like you stole it. You're definitely not based in the US :P Only you know where you live and what the market is like.
Revisions of that monitor go back to 2017, so it's a little dated. The TN panel dates it to around that period as well, the market has almost completely moved to IPS even on budget offerings now.
zeponx@reddit
I live In Malaysia, so Monitors compared to the US, ofcourse, are almost 3x cheaper. But Monitors here are still generally expensive.

Hey, I assembled my first PC yesterday. I followed some guides online and successfully put it together and booted it up. Now I updated my BIOS (AM5 motherboard) and enabled XMP profile. Next steps are installing Windows and drivers for... CPU, motherboard, GPU and anything else I can find? And then good to go, or am I missing anything?
reckless150681@reddit
Windows updates (don't forget the optional updates)
Ninite to download many common apps
Disable mouse acceleration
Use some sort of uninstaller (e.g. Revo) to get rid of bloatware
mostrengo@reddit
I like ninite.com for installing most apps.

I’ve rolled back Nvidia drivers to 566.36 (for stability reasons) and notice DLSS override is no longer available on the Nvidia app. Does this mean I’m locked out of that feature until I update drivers?
djGLCKR@reddit
If memory serves, the feature was introduced with driver 572.16 and Nvidia App ver. 11.0.2.312.
Front-Cabinet5521@reddit
Thanks. I guess I'll have to do without dlss 4 until nvidia fixes the driver issues once and for all.

Help please! I can't decide between a normal 12GB 4070 dual-fan priced at $690 and a 16GB 4060 Ti dual-fan priced at $568. I want to know if the higher price of the 4070 is worth the performance increase. Also I can wait up to 2 more months if price of rtx 5070 or rx9070xt may come around 700$ but can't wait any longer after that and can't dedicate over \~700-720$ for my gpu.
aby advice is appreciated.
Alasio@reddit
What currency is this in? Seems really high if it's USD.
MZLich@reddit
Lol Some 3rd world country with high inflation rate while suffering from US boycotts. Would appreciate it if you answer the question.

Alasio@reddit
I ask because I want to make sure that you’re not overpaying. If I just take those prices at face value, then it’ll be better getting the 4070 because the extra price justifies the performance. No answer for your 5070 or 9070xt because I don’t know what the prices are like for you now.
I’m also outside the US and I can find 9070xt for roughly $780, which is basically msrp for us.

Hello. I had already two Gainward Phoenix cards(last year rtx4070, they are the cheapest) with terrible coil whine even at 60fps. I found new one below msrp(5070 costs at least 1/2 more), should I try my luck or will the coil whine be terrible on this one too? I already tried three different PSU and motherboards on the previous two gpu's, did not help. Undervolting did not help either, with -400mhz core underclock it became dead silent.

Planning to order sapphire rx9070xt. My concern is can i play old games like need for speed carbon ? I have been using nvidia card all my life. Appreciate it anyone can answer my concern.
Alasio@reddit
Yes you can. If it's a game that Nvidia can run, then AMD can run it too.
