My 11 year old nephew is visiting. Sixth floor museum or George bush library? He likes history.
Any tips for either?
We went to Perot today and it was a little too elementary if that helps.

Oh as someone who was not impressed with Bush as a president, I did really like the library. I think he may also like it more since it has history which is more recent.

A friend who is a history professor made herself visit and she says if anything, it's a tribute to Laura Bush's skills as a librarian and curator that it's as interesting as it is. (Note that the comment is likely somewhat tongue-in-cheek, since I'm not sure how directly involved LB was.)

Near Love Field is the Frontiers of Flight Museum, it’s awesome!

Cautious take but the Holocaust Museum is amazing.
Went with my son's junior high class so maybe 11 is a couple years too old. Depends on the kid and what parents approve of. I would have loved it but I was a very nerdy kid.
Its arranged in a timeline showing how Hitler took over and enacted his plan, focusing on upstanders, people who didn't just accept it but fought back to protect others. And calls on people to become upstanders.

The Bush Library and the Sixth Floor Museum are both really interesting. Why not ask him which he'd prefer to see?
The Holocaust Museum is excellent and well worth visiting. I think a mature 11-year-old could handle it. One of the founders of the original Holocaust museum (it started in the basement of a large synagogue or Jewish Community Center in Dallas, then moved to a smaller space downtown, before finally moving to its current location) used to be there to walk people through and answer any questions they had. He lost his whole family in the Holocaust. Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago - I don't think he lived long enough to see the larger downtown museum he helped build.
The Sixth Floor Museum is within walking distance of the Holocaust Museum, so you could actually do both of those in one day with lunch in between.
I've never been especially impressed with the Perot Museum. It's boring for adults and really geared towards younger kids (6 or 7).

Log cabin village in Fort Worth is fun if he’s never seen buildings like that before. You can go to see at the Omni while there.

The Bush museum was really pretty interesting. Much more so than I expected it to be.

Might try the new National Medal of Honor museum in Arlington. Lots of good history stories there.
