You can but replacing the rear polarizer can be quite difficult. Also you have to get the correct polarizers so the screen isn't too dark. LRG made a Blerb where he purchased one for himself the the PO replaced the polarizers and he didn't like how cheap it looked and how dark it was. You can find the video on YT and see what I mean.
Feel free to come join the fb group :) another machine upgraded. For me the TFT is a such a game changer along with the injection moulded bezel it’s been done really nicely.
Could you link me here or DM me the link to the FB group. It would be great to be part of a community! Bummer there is no active subreddit for this neat little device.
eBay but it's currently not listed last I checked. They are made and sold by Gadget Retro in Australia. You might be able to order one from their website. They are limited as they only made 100.
they pulled them as they are having issues sourcing the LCDs and they are upping the price by like $100... kinda bummed out as I wanted to replace my LCD but I just don't think it's worth almost $500 to change it out
I hear you. Bummer that they are having trouble sourcing the screens. I looked at it as a buy once cry once situation. They are indeed expensive but they are a direct upgrade with a larger screen, better refresh rate and the craftsmanship is top notch. They are also the only people doing this so they can charge whatever they want.
ya but a couple thoughts, obviously upgrading it to TFT is a huge improvement as far as usability but the PC110 never had a TFT screen... and requires a new bezel etc, so now it's very much no longer original which im not sure how I feel about that...
The kit comes with a nice cushioned case to keep the old screen and bezel in. The whole process is reversible if you wanted to return to complete stock but I don't see why you'd want to. They spent 3 years developing this kit working with yyzkevin to make it as painless and original looking as possible.
Totally understand you feel like it would mess with the authenticity and you're entitled to that. I thought it was worth it and do not regret it.
It is not old stock it is made by Gadget Retro in collaboration with yyzkevin. They did an amazing job injection molding the panel. The font looks identical to the original IBM logo and the pc110 TFT looks good.

Would it be possible to separate the burnt polariser film and replace it like they do on gameboys?

There is the pc110 Reddit pages but it’s not massively active. I’ve posted to it previously.

Do you mind sharing where you sourced the replacement screen?

Is this original old stock or modern chinese part?

Oh wow that's a very proper job done

Second photo looks like an amber CRT. Also, game controller buttons?

If you're wondering if the right buttons are left and right click, they are. You can hold this and play doom like it's 1955.
The old screen degraded but it can be saved with replacement polarizers. I decided to go big or go home. Very happy with the replacement screen.

Looks good! Really cool keyboard.
