What did I see at ICT today?

Apologies for poor quality photo out the window as we taxi-ed in an AA CRJ700 about to take off I noticed this odd bird...tia
T50BMG@reddit
Bacn (Boeing aircraft company nut)
theanswriz42@reddit
It's not a toomah
ScottLikesPlanes@reddit
That’s N650SN. It’s SNC’s version of the ATHENA aircraft for the Army that was modified from a GLEX. Kind of a prototype for HADES, which was just designated ME-11B.
TOADflyer@reddit
Nope, doesn’t have whited-out windows nor black antennae on the top. Another commenter above was a bit closer to the mark.
BlueLava222@reddit
No, above is correct, this is SNC's RAPCON-X aircraft.
fergehtabodit@reddit (OP)
Are there 13 windows on port and 15 on starboard for some reason that I don't need to know?
RGN_Preacher@reddit
Just a bathroom install deal.
somme_rando@reddit
Why not leave the windows in for a toilet. Not like some will be peeking in the window up there.
It'd be a nice dump with a view.
RGN_Preacher@reddit
I’ve dropped a massive dump with a forward lav in a G-IV that had the window and yes, it was a nice stretch for a good view.
ScottLikesPlanes@reddit
The doors on the left side take up the space where the first and last windows would be.
TOADflyer@reddit
My bad, yeah you guys are right. I had to go back to my notes and research a bit. I got another program mixed up on there. Good call!
AfternoonPot@reddit
Scott was correct, it’s N650SN which can be seen in this article: https://www.key.aero/article/how-contractors-surveillance-aircraft-are-becoming-ever-more-important
mxj97@reddit
Damn so many acronyms
agha0013@reddit
when you take aviation, that already has a strong relationship with acronyms, and combine it with the military that takes the relationship to a strange new level..... the combination is magical
Ryno__25@reddit
Someone who read the Lightning Thief books growing up is finally old enough to make decisions for doctrine and program names
Sturnella64@reddit
Yep it was even broadcasting on ADS-B https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a88e57&lat=37.647&lon=-97.470&zoom=11.0&showTrace=2025-04-01
kl7mu@reddit
A plane with some throat infection.
Sparta954@reddit
That's one of the bombardier BACN planes, looks like it's 9001 the first plane for the program
kisharspiritual@reddit
They used to fly out of KAF
Sturnella64@reddit
It's the very similar-looking Athena
https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a88e57&lat=37.647&lon=-97.470&zoom=11.0&showTrace=2025-04-01
killertrout1@reddit
Where do you see that it's an Athena-S? I see where it says global 6000/6500, but couldn't it be an ARES or ATHENA-R?
Sturnella64@reddit
I got it from here: https://www.key.aero/article/how-contractors-surveillance-aircraft-are-becoming-ever-more-important
but that's the only place that distinguishes whether it's an R or S so you could definitely be right
killertrout1@reddit
I have/had a project with both ATHENA models so I was definitely curious. I'm almost certain it's an R
ScottLikesPlanes@reddit
It’s the -S version from SNC. Both versions have a belly fairing, but only the -S has the satcom(?) dome on top.
killertrout1@reddit
I stand corrected, thank you. ADS-B data also shows it from SNC while the R is L3 Harris. Which means the one I saw at L3 was the R. Very helpful.
killertrout1@reddit
ARES has no radome on the bottom so I can eliminate that one.
Sparta954@reddit
It totally is I mistook the treeline for the shark fin on top. I didn't realise any other plane got the belly pod after 9001
Tricky_Ad_3080@reddit
Snowball (9001) also has a different roof tumor than the jet pictured, in addition to the belly pod.
DouglasTaylorJr@reddit
BACN stands for Battlefield Airborne Communication Node
dnuohxof-2@reddit
Much less fun than what I was thinking….
NukeRocketScientist@reddit
I mean, you could probably cook bacon with the communications equipment that thing likely has if that's what you were thinking.
F1451Dmenace@reddit
Yup, that’s Snowball
kevman_2008@reddit
E-11A BACN. They're the platform that replaced my old jet, the E-8C JSTARS
killertrout1@reddit
Fellow JSTARS guy! BACN isn't on team canoe, this is definitely an ATHENA-R or S.
IAmNewAsWell_mc@reddit
pregnant Bombardier
dwank123@reddit
She’s almost ready to give birth …
MentulaMagnus@reddit
Sniper pod
waegugin@reddit
Well it’s spring so I think you caught a pregnant plane on camera! It’s really rare, because usually from around beginning of April until May they go into hiding which is why you almost never spot a pregnant bird. She probably just touched down to head to her nest for the next few months
sadistkarmalade@reddit
Call me crazy but I think that's an airplane.
BaldingJordanian@reddit
Plen
fergehtabodit@reddit (OP)
Extra belly room for sneks

You saw nothing if want to keep the black helicopters away. Now is not the time to visit Guantanamo bay.
louITAir@reddit
Nice poem you have there Written without a care
chumpynut5@reddit
It’s pregnant
Starrion@reddit
Looks like it's going to have a couple of Cessnas.
fergehtabodit@reddit (OP)
She's in the right place then!
Aerocat08@reddit
Ah, memories…

Golf38611@reddit
Awwwww. She’s pregnant. Don’t gawk.

ICT in the house
copingcabana@reddit
Yesterday, with weather fair, I saw a plane that wasn't there. It wasn't there again today, I think it's from the CIA.
CaptainDFW@reddit
Global with a Goiter.
occamsdagger@reddit
It needs some iodized salt.
bherman13@reddit
Airplane
slyskyflyby@reddit
Mmmmm BACN
BOMMOB@reddit
Yep.
random42name@reddit
Bombardier Global Express, which is likely being operated by L3Harris for military or government purposes.
Mnemorath@reddit
There is a reason ICT has the nickname “Air Capital of the World”.
Fit_Armadillo_9928@reddit
Nothing
AccountNumber0004@reddit
Probably a Global 6500 for the Army

Appropriate-Gas-1014@reddit
Looks like an MC-55 Peregrine
BrewCityChaserV2@reddit
I thought either that or an E-11A but the bulge on top isn't big enough to be that either. Now I'm curious.
lordtema@reddit
BACN probably! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlefield_Airborne_Communications_Node
Appropriate-Gas-1014@reddit
I forgot about the BACN.
lordtema@reddit
Just dont forget about Dre!
flyfightwinMIL@reddit
I think that’s a Bombardier Global, but I’m not sure of what exact model. Maybe an 8000?
Also heyyyyy to a fellow ICTer!
fergehtabodit@reddit (OP)
I regret not finding the time to hit the Doc B29 hangar... maybe next time. I pulled into the lot on Monday but they were closed. Saw the beauty thru the windows
lordtema@reddit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlefield_Airborne_Communications_Node is my guess!
Helmett-13@reddit
Shhhh!
