What Area Should I Stay Away From Living In Around DFW? Apartment Reccomendations?

I'm not picky about where I live as long as I don't have to worry about get shot or robbed and the apartment is clean and bug free. I would like a 2 bedroom for under $1400 but if that's completely unrealistic please just let me know. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I live in a safe gated community in a 2BR in Plano for about $1500. I had to search like hell to find the place but most places seemed 1700+ unless you want to move just outside of the metroplex.

Forest and Audelia

That area is RIFE with car break ins. Three since we started living in the area this year alone. Neighboring apartment complexes, same. Some people hit up multiple places in a short time.

$1400 is one bed territory, you're looking at closer to $2k for 2 bed in a safe area.

Getting shot and robbed isn’t as common as this sub makes it seem. It’s not an apocalypse and most people aren’t just targeting random people. $1400 isn’t realistic for a 2 bedroom in desirable area though. You’re just stretching it for maybe a 1 bedroom. Likely gonna be a studio.

Budget is your biggest obstacle. You are probably looking at least 2k for a two bed these days in Dallas, can't speak for the burbs, Working from home helps. Maybe Carrollton, Farmers Branch?

Stay far from forest/ Abram exit on LBJ freeway

Look at a demographics map

Anywhere that you're actually going to feel safe and enjoy living is definitely going to cost more than that for a 2-bedroom. For reference, I was paying just under that for a 1-bedroom in a desirable community in the suburbs ..... back before Covid, 5 years ago.

Pull up a crime data map and search the crime around the apartment complex. Same with the sex offender maps.

I'll be honest if you want somewhere that's fairly safe and as well as clean/well kept, $1400 is probably going to be the minimum for a 1 bedroom.
As for where, I recommend living as close as possible to where you work. Traffic is bad and it's only going to get worse in the coming years.
