Well that doesn't look so bad .
Maybe add a few beans/ chopped red pepper / chopped onion, and you've got yourself a pretty cool meal .
mikaylatryn@reddit
Bruh scoop a lil that parm in from the back
presidentkokoro@reddit
I think I've had something like this at a Chinese restaurant once. It was made from rice flour dough, rolled out, cut into pieces, and boiled. Then, they lightly stir-fried it with char siu and served it with green onions and soy sauce. I added the chili oil at the table, but and oh my god, it was fanfreakingtastic!
I even tried Googling the name, but couldn’t find it.
Specialist_Twist_833@reddit
Would you call them lightly fried rice filets?
ChineseMaple@reddit
刀削面? 面疙瘩?
redR0OR@reddit
So like, I found the dish, but all the links are in Chinese, so ya, this didn’t really help
terribleversion-@reddit
Use google translate lmao?

I'm wondering now, how someone asks a question with a rising tone of hearty laughter...
terribleversion-@reddit
We definitely come from different generations because normally when I use that acronym in a sentence it’s not genuinely indicative of laughter
MiniMeowl@reddit
This dish in restaurants will either be called 麻辣炒猫耳朵 (Ma La stirfried Cats Ears pasta) or 麻辣剪刀面 (Ma La scissors cut noodles).

Robot_tangerine@reddit
Chao nian Gao?
AreYouAllFrogs@reddit
If it’s made from rice, it could be stir fried rice cakes 炒年糕
presidentkokoro@reddit
I've been searching on/off about this today, and a friend says it could be silverpin noodles, and the pictures I found look similar, but the dish was much simpler.
YakElectronic6713@reddit
What's those shavings on the counter?
DJAllOut@reddit
Skin flakes from exfoliating dry feet

Oh barf. I didn’t want this smoothie for breakfast anyway.
knoxollo@reddit
My ex used to work at Olive Garden as a server, but would fill in as a busser if they were shorthanded. While cleaning, she sees someone has left a small pile of parmesan on the table. She goes to sweep it up to find it was actually a pile of fingernail (toenail?) and skin clippings. Directly on the table. She said it was definitely more than one hand's worth.
Unfortunately I cannot see parmesan without that story popping into my head.

HammelGammel@reddit
It's obviously cheese. OP is building a house made of Parmesan cheese, and is currently taking a break by eating something non-cheese-related. Also: they're poor because of all the cheese they had to buy as building materials.
Few-Mood6580@reddit
Wood. Dude is doing a home project.
KrampusPampus@reddit
That's a lot of calluses. Good to see you stacked up on cheap, homegrown parmesan.
True-Musician-9554@reddit
Aren’t cut up boiled dough pieces technically gnocchi?
PseudocodeRed@reddit
My brother in christ that is pasta. You are describing pasta.
UntestedMethod@reddit
Thanks for explaining. I was trying to figure out why they would boil chunks of dough instead of just eating it raw.
queenlizbef@reddit
Why would you eat raw dough?
UntestedMethod@reddit
Because it's delicious?
queenlizbef@reddit
That’s an opinion unique to you, I fear. And raw dough is dangerous to eat, even if it weren’t disgusting taste-wise.
UntestedMethod@reddit
Thank you.
DadSmokesMeth@reddit
Pizza dough? delicious?

Just wait until your neighborhood bistro includes this language on their menu. And then we’ll rave to our friends: “I had the best cut up boiled dough pieces”

There's also gnocchi sardi (or the smaller version, gnocchetti sardi) which is gnocchi made of regular pasta dough.

Scissor noodles! Me and an ex used to make those, they're dope as hell
If you want a protein rich version you can make the dough out of soft tofu and flour

It looks amazing. As a follow poverty noodle meal fan, started with Ramen in college to cooking my own poverty noodles now. shaved dough noodles. dao Xiao mian
Adds a little chill oilll. Bam! I'll eat that everyday. If you make chicken soup, use the extra shaved noddles add it to the soup 🤌
neophyte_2188@reddit
Got to any Indian store and buy rice. $20 for 20lbs, will last you for months. Easy to cook, good carbs, fills you up. Can pair with proteins and sauces easily.
Matix411@reddit
Ngl I'd murder a bowl of that
SilverCompetitive902@reddit
Nice. My poverty meal is spinach cheese ravioli, with oil, salt, pepper, oil, and sriracha.
SilverCompetitive902@reddit
I'm in Spain and I don't know the prices or differences. Buts it's €1.50 usually for 250 grams of dry ravioli in the fridge section. And the other stuff I already have in the house normally. So pretty much just €1.50 plus whatever else I have to add
sardis92@reddit
Looks a little like Spetzle! Try that next time!
Appropriate-Coat3466@reddit
Was just about to suggest buying a Spätzlehobel. It is very easy and cheap to make, and Spätzle goes well with most dishes, ESPECIALLY pork.

Thats the one ive been to last sunday ha. In the street of the temple. I liked the minced pork type the best

This sounds like knife cut noodles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knife-cut_noodles?wprov=sfti1 in Chinese cuisine! Even the chili oil and pork belly is really on point for how they’re usually served.

brido1654@reddit (OP)
Thanks, i usually buy 300 grams of almost expired pork belly because thats about 1.75 euros here and 40 cents for the flour. Makes dinner for 2
YakElectronic6713@reddit
As long as the meat looks and smells ok, it's still edible.
Your_Conscious_@reddit
I only by the on sale meat in Canada. It’s past its prime, not expired by any means
3PoundsOfFlax@reddit
You could have said this was some east asian delicacy and I would've believed you
