Scratched rear quarter panel and moulding

Auto collision guy said entire quarter panel (including above doors) and rear door need to be repainted for blending. New moulding needed. He needs to take off rear bumper (parking sensors), tail light, and roof rails. Says painters tape will peel off paint. Estimated 2.5-3k CAD. Is this really that bad? I don’t even see bare metal.

Thanks everyone. I’ll be going to more collision shops to get quotes. If they are way north of 1k, should I consider ScratchesHappen Aerosol?

So what did you wind up doing. I have a 6 inch key scratch on my 2023 lexus and was also quoted thousands of dollars b/c it was on a quarter panel.

I used scratches happen aerosol. Didn’t do the best job blending the edges but works fine on my black car and hasn’t peeled off. If you DIY and don’t like it you can always go back to a shop. For a 2023 I’ll recommend finding a cheaper shop, especially if it’s a shade of silver which is hard to blend
