This was not a very polite driver this morning.

Hi neighbors! I wanted to give yall a heads up - caught video of this fine driving specimen this morning. This species, TypicalDallasDouchebagus, decided that getting her child to school 5 seconds earlier was more important than our health and safety. I turned around and followed her, shocked to see she had her child in the car, and was dropping them off at a nearby elementary school. I did my best to blur the license plate, to present any identifiable information. Yall, be a good neighbor and drive safe. not like this lady.
DarkL1ghtn1ng@reddit
Do we really consider a publicly visible license plate to be personal information? Or was this a-hole's name written on the trunk?
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
I wasn't sure if the Plano subreddit allowed open license plates on video, so I err'd on the side of caution.

dezijugg9111@reddit
nah you fine. Its nothing serious i see these type of drivers every day. I just honk and give the middle finger and move on with my life.
Snobolski@reddit
A lot of subs don't allow posting license plates because it makes it easy to dox / stalk the person.
Taking posters at their word, it shouldn't be a problem. But all it takes is one person making a fake post with bad intent, sparking a witch hunt at the wrong person, and someone gets hurt.
Conversely: What good could come from posting the license plate?
DarkL1ghtn1ng@reddit
I know its possible to look up someone by license plate (if you lie about the reason you are doing so) but to me that is a risk you live with if you drive like a maniac.
Personally I would like to see the vehicle/plate so I can steer clear of this person, as I live not far from here.
one_is_enough@reddit
How exactly would you steer clear of someone, given their license plate or car description? Genuinely curious.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
I live in the neighborhood. I pass by that school every day. i saw the car this afternoon. I now know they are unpredictable and inconsiderate, and I can recognize that and react.
Cloudy_Automation@reddit
There was an accident at Timothy&Legacy on Monday. The connection between Timothy and Legacy is down to one lane, but instead of making it one way, it's instead a game of chicken. Someone was turning onto Timothy from eastbound Legacy, saw a car was trying to exit Timothy and stopped suddenly. The car behind on Legacy did not stop so quickly, hitting and pushing the car ahead into the car on Timothy. Three car accident.
I avoid that intersection until construction is finished. It could have been someone taking their kid to the nearby school.

You seem like an angry elf.
Redditburd@reddit
Only a matter of time until you are invovled in some sort of "incident" be it a wreck because of your own lack of defensive driving, or a dispute.

People do this all the time, they can’t be fucking bothered to get behind you so that their abrupt turn doesn’t inconvenience you, no, they have to race around you and slam on the brakes to show you how big their ego is.
LonelyAd4185@reddit
OP - do not follow people. Making comments about the other driver’s weight?
Doxed yourself as the bigger idiot.
nmeyer88@reddit
Since moving to Texas I am absolutely blown away with how awful the drivers are here. Its unreal.

Mynplus1throwaway@reddit
Why follow? I understand the rage, confusion, befuddlement etc. But you are dealing with someone you already know is reckless and negligent. It's not a stretch to imagine they are some full blown psycho.
So many people have guns and it isn't worth even pretending to engage with these people.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
Because I had the time, and I wanted to confirm my suspicion that she was dropping a kid off at school. which makes the situation that much worse, to drive like that with a child in the car. I agree, that engaging one of these fools is not ok, I was at a safe distance.
Sanchastayswoke@reddit
I would like to note that I witnessed a road rage incident a few months ago, IN PLANO, where the driver of one car got out and pointed a gun in the face of the driver of another car. At a stoplight. During the morning commute. Definitely do not follow someone just for cutting you off. You never know what these fools will do.
noobbtctrader@reddit
I feel like this type of shit will become more and more acceptable, too. To the point where it becomes a real problem in itself.
Sanchastayswoke@reddit
Same.
noobbtctrader@reddit
You a private investigator or something, brother? Gonna write up a dossier?
Tbh any time I've felt the necessity to follow someone like that, it wasn't pure curiosity. You had a bone to pick. Verified by this post. I'd just move on next time. Shit happens.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
ill do what I damn well please, actually. and if someone who puts my life and livelyhood in danger, youre damn sure im going to identify them properly. sorry that upsets you so much.
noobbtctrader@reddit
Aight grandpa, go change your diapers, I think you just shut yourself.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
you got an answer. now your crying about it? you need to speak for yourself.
noobbtctrader@reddit
Answer about what? Lmfao. Go chase some more mom's dropping their kids off at school. Weirdo.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
cut me off and see what I do.
noobbtctrader@reddit

East_Engineer_2479@reddit
This all started over accountability. If that says anything about the state of society, you'll have to spell it out for me cause I'm really fucking dumb.
Snobolski@reddit
Ok, and... ? Congrats, you know where a bad driver's kid goes to school?
East_Engineer_2479@reddit
Probably wants her held accountable if I had to guess
Snobolski@reddit
Could just give the dashcam video to the cops, no need to follow her.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
Cops won’t do anything if there was no collision.
noobbtctrader@reddit
Guess you'll have to ram her next time
altagato@reddit
They can send a nastygram if a report was filed on a license plate... I dunno how much Plano actually does that tho
Mynplus1throwaway@reddit
I get it man. I really do. I just don't think following added anything to your day. Shit this egregious will piss me off all day as I replay it in my head. Following them even at a safe distance can only escalate it.
There was no benefit. You have her plate if you wanted to report reckless driving to the non emergency number. You could send the video to CPS or whatever of you felt that would do something.
I've just seen people go crazy when they think someone's following them. This type of driving lends us to believe they aren't a stable individual.
Do what you want man, I'm just trying to suggest an alternative. Road rage stuff can escalate quickly even if she just saw your car again and freaked out.
altagato@reddit
And frankly if I accidentally cut someone off trying to get to school or something, I'd be INCREDIBLY alarmed if they then followed me to my kids school in the morning and felt so convicted too post it on social media to keep obsessing about it.
Do I purposely cut folks off? Nah... But I've been known to do it accidentally. I can't imagine any reason short of an accident why they needed to be followed. 🥴
Mynplus1throwaway@reddit
In this case I'd say it's a bit egregious and not an accident. They knew what they were doing and just doubled down. A bad driver never misses their turn...
Ateam043@reddit
From all the places I've lived or visited, Texas has the worst drivers and nothing can change my mind.

icyhotonmynuts@reddit
That's not doxxing, mate.
therealallpro@reddit
You should get your windshield fixed. I’ve never seen one that will randomly blur up like that. That’s probably why you couldn’t see his brake lights. I hope this helps.

Why blur it??

TheDutchTexan@reddit
Going out of your way to follow people is idiotic behavior. In fact, you’re one step closer to a bullet.
Let it go.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
I wasn't really worried about a bullet. she was on the husky side, she might have thrown a cheeseburger at me.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
Sorry about the blur - trying to follow the rules without yet having the video editing skillset. Drive kind, yall.
TheSpivack@reddit
You mean by aggressively making a U-turn across 3 lanes and following people who are taking their kids to school?
Yeah, they cut you off, but now you're just part of the TypicalDallasDouchebagus population.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
well, I checked my mirrors, and didn't cut anyone off behind me for the U turn. Nor did I cut in front of anyone going north. Nor was I aggressive towards the other driver. by the time i turned into where I was cut off - the other driver was already in the car lane at the school, and I simply did a drive by so i could identify them later. I am really sorry you have such strong feelings about my video. I take that route daily, and if someone drives aggressive like that, I like to know some details about them, so I know how to avoid them.
TheSpivack@reddit
Realistically, now that you know some details about this person, what are you going to change about your daily routine to avoid them?
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
Well, I live in the neighborhood. I often take different streets home and I live within a mile of the school. I pass by it every afternoon to pick up my own disabled son from his care, but typically avoid it during the morning due to car line. So, i took my usual route this afternoon. I saw what I think is a man driving that same vehicle this afternoon. I didn't sit and gawk, but it did not appear to be the same lady driving dangerously earlier. so, as i was driving this afternoon, i think to myself, if someone was driving my son or daughter like that, wouldn't I want to know?
Please let me be very clear - I will not speak or address these people. I'm just hoping that someone who knows and loves that kid sees the video and can assess the situation properly. If it was just a bad day and she made a mistake, then I hope her day is better tomorrow.
Following the person was a poor idea - everyone is correct about that. My curiosity got away from me when I asked myself "Who TF drives like that" and I wanted to see for myself.
Snobolski@reddit
They won't change anything, they'll just get bolder stalking this mom.
firecat2666@reddit
I've learned a kind of aggressive defensiveness, or always being in the way of cars on my sides to prevent this sort of bs
a1russell@reddit
If this is what it sounds like to me, this is a terrible idea. Purposefully driving in people's blind spots is not safe at all, and if you do get in an accident because of it, you will share fault with the person that hit you.
firecat2666@reddit
I'm definitely not lingering in blindspots since I can't trust people even check them. it's more about taking up space/asserting proper etiquette when I sense some bullshit's about to go down
jnmann@reddit
Everyone is in their own world while driving. You cannot change other peoples driving habits, you have no control how other people act. If you get yourself worked up over it you’ll resort to road raging. Just let it go, call them an idiot and move on
lastsonkal1@reddit
I'm so used to people only signaling when they are actual turning. This somehow doesn't bother me.
This is TX after all, we're all out for ourselves. F you and the traffic laws.
/s in case
They're in front, therefore they have the right of way. Seems to be the sentiment around these parts.
burntkumqu4t@reddit
I just feel like you’re over blowing this whole situation
ExpertConsideration8@reddit
I agree.. it seems to me that the other driver was coming through the green light intersection with speed (not stopped at the light). OP seems dumber for escalating the situation.
burntkumqu4t@reddit
Like, I get that bad driving sucks, and I’m not defending the other driver here, but 1: Following the person after the incident, 2: taking the time to upload dashcam footage and type out a paragraph on Reddit just seems so immature. The incident happened, just move on with your day.
a_polite_redditor@reddit (OP)
Its ok to disagree, and I respect your opinion. I have a growing list of videos i have taken, just in the last year of close calls from ignorant and rude motorists. I do my best to drive kindly, and I hope that others do too. I think it goes to show how poorly some of our neighbors treat each other, and how we should take a look at how we behave towards others. a sign of a larger culture problem in the US. How do you solve problems like this? Shine a light on it, so others can see the behavior and know what not to do.
