Haircuts for long hair?

I really just need a straight-across trim and my bangs cleaned up from someone who does not interpret one inch as a four-inch cut. Any recommendations for a stylist, preferably on the east side, who can get the job done for around $75? Can be flexible on the price if needed. Would prefer no barber shops

Honestly, I’ve had great luck going to cosmetology schools for simple haircuts (and even for more involved ones).

I’ve considered this. Do you just walk in?

Sometimes I did, but I would also sometimes book ahead through their website. I went to the Paul Mitchell school in Arlington.

Do you go to the same person every time, or is it random who you get? I'm sure a lot of them are very talented, enthusiastic and give 100% effort. But there's got to be some that really have no business cutting hair and just haven't figured that out yet.

I always requested a student in the last phase of the program so it was always some new as they would have already graduated by the time I came back through. I also often did bleaching and color requests that always turned out fine.
The place I went, usually the instructor would give them a rundown of what to do, demonstrate on one section of my hair, observe the student do it for another section, and then let them loose.

Laura at JC Salon in Casa Linda is great. She’s also a colorist.
