College Students Visiting Dallas

Hey Dallas locals!
I’m bringing a group of about 12 college students (ages 19–22) to Dallas at the end of May for a convention, and we’re looking for fun things to do in the evenings or during downtime.

A few details:

Not all of us are 21, so we’re skipping bars/clubs
We’re super open to adventurous stuff like amusement parks, water parks, and fun group activities
Would love any must-see spots, hidden gems, or great restaurants
Looking for a mix of chill hangouts and exciting things to do as a group

Basically, if you had one weekend to show out-of-towners what makes Dallas awesome — what would you do? Also willing to travel about an hour or so out of town as well.

I think everyone should go by the old Book Repository building where JFK was shot. Just to see how many people are there. If it is open when you have time, there is a museum.

The Parks at Arlington mall is pretty cool, there's a large arcade with lots of games imported from Japan, an ice rink, and pretty decent shopping. I would avoid anything outside around that time of year (unless you're just coming from another part of Texas, then you know what's up) bc it'll be hot.

Cidercade (video arcade) and Puttshack (elevated mini golf) are fun venues that are under-21 during the day

Cidercade actually goes to 18+ in the evenings, so if you go late then you don't have to worry about running into little kids (there aren't usually many anyway though). It's also a flat fee a the door for unlimited play, $13 I think, as opposed to paying to reload a card constantly so super cost effective.

Go to 6 flags in arlington. 20 mins east on i30. Theres the ripleys believe it or not there too. And may the horse race track is good especially for the kentucky derby. The perot museum is cool. JFK book depository museum. The aquarium is great too. Dave and busters.

Meow Wolf is in Grapevine close to the airport. If yall are flying in maybe yall can stop there.

Downtown there is Dick’s last resort(where they make fun of you)

There’s also AT&T district that has a food hall.
