The lever would be on the back of the chair, only easily accessible to the person behind you.

I just rode in my friends car today and it was like a foreign taxi and the passenger seat (on the left) had this

Was it a coupe? That's how you get out.

Nah. Just leg room. He introduced it as such

Smart. Most Ubers have the passenger pulled up.

So you're saying you want to give more power to the people behind you? That's like inviting chaos! Imagine someone having a bad day, and they've got the power to screw with your comfort level just like that. Next, someone will suggest that the guy behind me should also control my music and phone notifications. Putting that kind of control in others' hands, especially random strangers on a bus, is asking for trouble. People can barely manage their own lives; let's not put them in charge of mine too. Plus, if I’m gonna catch a nap on a long ride, I don’t need some maniac pushing the seat upright whenever they feel like it. I say nah to this crazy idea! Not in my commute.

I've never even been on a bus where the seats move at all?!
Coach trip maybe, but a bus?!
