First of all, Albanians are native in N. Macedonia. Hundred years ago, there were many more Albanians than there are today proportionally.

However, the 1912/13 massacres and the consequent expulsions decreased the Albanian population hugely. It also decreased the territory where they are the majority today.

That said, N. Macedonia didn't save Albanians from the Kosovo war. That was the Albanians native to N. Macedonia. They opened their homes for us.
