So I currently have a 2070s paired with a 5700x3D , I just purchased a pny 5070, was this the right choice? Some people are recommending to go with Amd. Opinions ?
Mario8000@reddit
crazy i literally just upgraded from the same exact hardware with 5700x3D. seems super awesome just set it up today

Big difference? Mine comes on Friday, pretty stoked

Yeah there was a few newer games I was closely monitoring performance on, ff7 rebirth, cyberpunk, and atomicheart to name a few. Turned all those games up to max and runs great. Was only able to run these games on “high” settings before without super noticeable performance issues.

You ran ever setting max? I played cyberpunk and I think I had it on medium setting

If you bought it for $550 plus tax imo it’s a great upgrade which should work well with your cpu.

Yea I got it at msrp , they’re in stock at Best Buy so I just said fuck it. My 2070s has been great to me so I’m sure the 5070 will be even better
robertredberry@reddit
You lucky mfer, it’s like finding money at that price.

They’re in stock at Best Buy rn , I could’ve bought like 3 lol. Mine comes in on Friday
robertredberry@reddit
They’re not in stock where I am, just checked. I keep missing out.
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
Dang , they’re still in stock for me lol. Only the pny are in stock , I couldn’t find anything else

The same card was on Amazon at msrp a few days ago.
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
It’s $1,150 on Amazon right now.. that’s wild , I definitely feel like I made the right choice lol
robertredberry@reddit
Apparently, the companies that make these gpus are contractually obligated to sell a small number at msrp for next to no profit. After those are gone the prices get jacked up.
curiousdugong@reddit
I see them available for delivery tomorrow from Best Buy right now as well. I think it’s regional
robertredberry@reddit
Actually, they are available now. Going to try to get one.
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
Did you get one?
robertredberry@reddit
I nearly got one, but had trouble with paying for it since I cancelled my credit card the day before. Now I'm second guessing my need for that good of a card. I think I will wait for an AMD 9060, but it's probably a bad decision. Plus, I don't want a Best Buy credit card.
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
What gpu do you have right now
robertredberry@reddit
1060 6gb
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
If you can try to get the 5070 at msrp I would just do it. That would be a crazy upgrade
robertredberry@reddit
I got one, will be here April 9th. Figured I should get one before the tariffs kick in.
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
Mine gets here Friday , congrats! I’m looking forward to this
robertredberry@reddit
Yeah, same. I've got a 7600x cpu, which should be about the equivalent of yours if what I've read is true. Cheers.
curiousdugong@reddit
I’m east coast. Hope you’re able to get an MSRP one, 🤘
robertredberry@reddit
They show as sold out for me. Are you just looking on their website? I’m in WA State.
yami76@reddit
Hot damn thanks for the tip, just ordered one! Woohoo
Former_Hat_6890@reddit (OP)
Congrats man , mine comes in on Friday so I’m excited
cursedpanther@reddit
The 5070 itself is fine. The real question is at what price?
Either way it's a pretty huge jump in performance from the 2070S so you may as well enjoy it.

Msrp !
