For one thing, Rice and Knox, drivers of the Urus and Corvette respectively, caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage and sent multiple people to the hospital, people who are still suffering from injuries from that crash a year ago. One person needs eye surgery still, but Rice has refused to provide any support of the people he injured. In fact, Rice's lawyer has managed to delay civil proceedings for a year now, and none of the victims have been able to get their lawsuits into court. Rice hasn't lifted a finger to make any of his victims whole again, not only the people he injured but the companies he leased/rented the Urus and Corvette from. The only negative fallout that I've been able to find for Rice and Knox is that Knox was kicked off the SMU team and is no longer listed on any team rosters in the country. As far as the criminal case goes, The Dallas County prosecutor's office has yet to present the charges to a Grand Jury, and until that's done there can be no trial. Rice's lawyer is a well-connected state senator here in Texas, though I don't know to what extent that's driving the DA's office to stall on presenting the charges to the Grand Jury. Honestly? Both Rice and Knox were driving just under 120 mph in a reckless manner, it's only sheer random chance that there weren't multiple fatalities as a result of that. Neither should ever be allowed to possess a driver's license or drive again, at least not in Texas. Both should get a lifetime ban for that.
