I stand by my view that the PT Cruiser was a cool concept poorly executed. Like the Prowler of the era. Could have been so, so much cooler, but instead they stuck a junk powertrain and interior in it and sold it as a cutesy mass-market economy car.
Sulipheoth@reddit
Worth mentioning that by some gross oversight of the universe, the PT Cruiser was Motortrend's 2001 Car of the Year.

Vibe over PT Cruiser, hands down. Toyota Matrix underpinnings so the Pontiac is actually a very competent little wagon. The PT, well it gets honors just for being on the road, still. Haha.

Plus the Vibe GT had the 2zz out of the Lotus Elise.
thelastlugnut@reddit
Well technically the Toyota 2ZZ out of the Celica GTS, which was also available in the Lotus Elise (as were several other Toyota and Rover engines), but only a pedantic grump would bother making that correction. ;)

I’ve owned two PT Cruisers and a Toyota Matrix. (Same car as the Vibe, only pretty.)

Damn the PT Cruiser kinda looks good in this pic

This reminds me of one of my favorite Reddit posts: PT Cruiser owners, what tragedy burdened you with your car?
