The judge sentences criminals. Yeah setting a car on fire but the judge isn't going to give them 20 years no matter what some political hack prosecutor will ask for

That depends on which judges they get, more of the right MAGA types, angling for a supreme court position through craven grovelling, not that unlikely in the New Order.

And then comes martial law
Of course, America has never successfully won a war against insurgence. The US military only attacks if they can outnumber the enemy three to one. If the enemy is the American people, they’re not going to get anywhere near that ratio.
And the more horrible, they become the more people fight back. And we are so huge geographically with such varied terrain that it would be almost impossible for the military to contain us.
BrandynBlaze@reddit
I really think declaring martial law is the goal. They get people riled up by destroying the country, a large protest gets “violent” and property is damaged in a major city, and the administration used it as an excuse to move in and take control permanently. It will be somewhere like LA or NYC, and then political dissidents get the same treatment as immigrants are. I would be absolutely amazed if US citizens don’t get murdered by the government or sent to overseas prison camps in the next year.
Neon_culture79@reddit
I kinda think it will be Denver. We have a mayor that is refusing to back down and the nationwide attention from the fake story about a Venezuela gang taking over an apartment complex.
BrandynBlaze@reddit
That actually makes even more sense than LA and NYC because its population is smaller and would be easier to pull off and it doesn’t have any nearby major population centers to support them. You may be on to something there.

Neon_culture79@reddit
Yeah, but we still have people who live in isolated areas all across the country. We have mountains. We have a vast amount of distance and we have two huge boarders. They also have to factor in a good chunk of the military will simply refuse the order to start attacking their fellow Americans. I think people forget this a lot, but there are plenty of leftists in the military.
I’m not saying it wouldn’t be rough. It absolutely would be. And you or I might not even live to see the end of it. A lot of people would be making sacrifices. But ultimately the best outcome Trump could ever hope for is some kind of grand scale version of Iraq during the 2000s
TXLancastrian@reddit

Jim Jordan is blowing smoke up your ass.
1) This wasn't about parents speaking out against school boards. It was, specifically, about violent threats, acts, and harassment being directed towards school staff across the country.
2) The DoJ didn't arrest or charge any of the parents related to this with domestic terrorism.
3) The DoJ never even labelled any of the parents as terrorists.
4) The DoJ was literally just investigating violent threats and actions reported by school officials. Ya know, like they're supposed to.
5) The email Jim Jordan released substantiates that they were only investigating violent threats, actions, and harassment. Not just random moms they don't like or something.

CardButton@reddit
Ehh ... more the end of the end. Hayek's Neoliberalism, that both parties and their donors to various degrees heavily push, could only end in one way. To the point that both parties still by-in-large service "Raegan's" voodoo economics; just the Dems are softer in their approach to it. The marriage of Capital and the State; and meritocracy being the cheap justification. Where Capital just throws off any pretense or middle men and just becomes the state. Fascism. The strong upsurge of Ultranationalist Rhetoric and ever changing scapegoat targets is an essential part of it; as it distracts from the system itself that is the cause of the immense economic hardship it places on the general populous.
There's a reason the wealthy in droves invested so much money and time pushing Hayek's work. With Carter opening the door for the ideology functionally, and Raegan blowing that door off its hinges. Yet, the slow death of Democracy shouldnt be surprising. Friedrich Hayek built his career on fearmongering about how social safety nets, public welfare, and communalism would lead to tyranny; even naming his most famous work "The Road to Serfdom". Yet, repeatedly openly admitted his disdain for Democracy, and his heavy preference of what he referred to as "Liberal" Dictatorships. 5-6 Decades of both parties championing his principles, at two different speeds? Funny that.
iridescent-shimmer@reddit
Interesting. I didn't know Hayek was that anti-democracy, but that's worrisome since whole post Soviet countries modeled their economics around his work. I'll have to read up on that, so thanks for mentioning it. Though, I do agree that the end of Reaganism was either going to be another era of monopolies or open revolt.
CardButton@reddit
His opinions on Govt Format were largely revealed in his comments revolving the US backed dictator and coup of Augusto Pinochet. Which, that country was essentially a rough draft of politics pushed by Reagan in the US and Thatcher in the UK. Though he framed this "support of a Liberal Dictatorship over a Democracy without Liberalism" as merely a transitionary step ... his economic/political stances were always consumed by "Power in the hands of Capital alone". It was what he was concerned about being "enslaved". He also repeated this sentiment in his DEEP opposition to organized labor movements. The tyranny Hayek feared in "A Road to Serfdom" was merely that of the majority.
iridescent-shimmer@reddit
Yikes, I had no idea he supported Pinochet. Good god. Thanks for the info. Maybe it's time for me to reread the Road to Serfdom.

She was not murdered, though. Let’s not mince words.
She ignored multiple warnings and was killed as a result of her dumbassery.
Also calling her a ‘protester’ is disingenuous. Protests are peaceful, that was an armed insurrection into a federal building. She was an insurrectionist trespassing on federal property who ignored multiple warnings and her own common sense.
She is not a murder victim.
easeMachined@reddit
Shooting unarmed rioters is OK as long as they were given multiple trespass warning, right?

I see deaths by natural causes, drug overdoses, and suicides.
J6 is the only protest in history where murders are attributed to it if someone who was there committed suicide 6 months later.
Greedy-Tart5025@reddit
Generally if your actions directly lead to someone taking their own life, you are culpable. These officers died because of J6, period. Whether we call it murder or some other term is just semantics. We might not have a specific word for it, but that doesn't somehow absolve the culpability.
Check_Me_Out-Boss@reddit

I think you meant 'the only attacker that was killed was participating in a breach of the defensive perimeter during a violent attack on the United States capitol during a Congressional session, a constitutionally significant one, in which members of Congress and the vice president were present, an attack which included those which were hunting certain members of Congress and the vice president of the United States with intent to kill, and disrupt a proceeding which is an important part of continuity of government.'
EntrepreneurBehavior@reddit
Just was thinking about this. The legal precedent has sort of been set. Whats stopping the left from storming the Capitol?
jadelink88@reddit
The fact that they'd ask for the death penalty for it, as if you do it, it's terrorism, if we do it, it's patriotism.
MediumEvent2610@reddit
To be fair, it would still be illegal. Accepting a pardon is admission of guilt. Now, Trump sure isn’t going to pardon anyone on the left that goes and does something like that, this news story is proof enough of that. On the other hand would the next (presumably Democrat) president issue pardons for leftist protestors? I doubt it.
-illusoryMechanist@reddit
To my understanding it isn't really but some administrations' DOJ have tried to claim it is for legal sehnanigan reasons
PennyLeiter@reddit
Accepting a pardon is accepting guilt. That's how it works. Otherwise, what are you accepting a pardon for?
WhatIsHerJob-TABLES@reddit
Accepting a pardon to avoid unnecessary witch hunts like what Trump was going to do to Fauci, despite that Fauci didn’t do anything illegal.
Dayarkon@reddit
Then why didn't Trump pardon himself and his entire family before he left office? Prosecutors had already announced investigation against him in December/January of 2021.
A pardon IS an admission of guilt. A pre-emptive pardon spanning 10 years, like the ones Biden gave out, even moreso. All the people Biden pardoned are guilty.
PennyLeiter@reddit
Yes, but that is unprecedented because of Trump.
The January 6th pardons were for actual crimes that people were convicted of.
WhatIsHerJob-TABLES@reddit
True, but we are in unprecedented times so now i guess there is another reason for accepting a pardon, which contradicts “accepting a pardon is accepting guilt” rather it can also mean “accepting a pardon is accepting immunity from vengeful attacks”
PennyLeiter@reddit
I don't know why you're attempting to introduce this argument when it is contextually irrelevant. We are not talking about Biden's specific pardons of individuals targeted for prosecution by Trump.
We are talking about the January 6th criminals who received pardons AFTER they were convicted, which is the typical context in which Presidential pardons occur.
-illusoryMechanist@reddit
Biden's pardons still count as evidence in the "accepting pardon is an admission of guilt" discussion. If the people accepting those don't admit guilt, then accepting a pardon does not automatically infer guilt.
PennyLeiter@reddit
I mean, I don't know what to tell you here. You can't be guilty of something that isn't a crime. The Trump administration was never going to find evidence of an actual crime, but would still seek to imprison these individuals. A Presidential Pardon was the only protection against that.
Again, the context is entirely different. Biden pardoned innocent people to protect them from illegal prosecution.
-illusoryMechanist@reddit
The context is irrelevant. The claim is that accepting a pardon always confers an admission of guilt. There is a case wherin that does not occur. Therefore, accepting a pardon does not always confer an admission of guilt.
Since we know it doesn't always, there is room for debate as to whether the jan 6 group admitted guilt by accepting the pardons. I personally don't think pardons ever confer an admission of guilt (unless it were to be a specific condition of the pardon).
TXLancastrian@reddit
Any specified and unspecified crimes between dates before Biden left office? What guilt were they accepting?
PennyLeiter@reddit
You should read the comments below. That is contextually irrelevant because the pardons by Biden were to protect innocent individuals from lawless persecution by Trump - who is a criminal himself.

I switched to GrapheneOS, still super sus though...
It's wild how dependent we've become

Ironic they only support pixel phones. I would consider buying a pipeline as my next phone knowing this (actually i almost did for separate reasons), but unfortunately jmwnet another route.

either that or they just happen to hang themselves in their prison cell with the wardens belt, or become victims of a gang that they never even talked to, let alone mad, but for some reason the gang now has a new tv in their cell. It all just sort of pays off...

USA school shooting, thoughts and prayers. USA burning Telsa, 20 years you fucking terrorist.
azraelwolf3864@reddit
School shooters end up shot. What the fuck are you on about?
Individual-Fix-6358@reddit
Not all of them, many have been put on trial.
azraelwolf3864@reddit
Ok? And? Did they get "thoughts and prayers" or did they get put away for life?
Individual-Fix-6358@reddit
The thoughts and prayers are from republicans not willing to do anything to protect child, not pass a single law to do anything, but now willing to go to extraordinary lengths to protect fucking cars produced by a billionaire. Do you honestly not see the irony there?
azraelwolf3864@reddit
What laws should they pass to stop school shootings? I'm pretty sure it's illegal to shoot up a school, dumbass. It's also illegal to burn or damage people's property. Are you seriously this retarded?
Comfortable_Ad_4530@reddit
All this administration is proving is how the entirety of the Republican Party are just a bunch of pussies that hate taking accountability for a single goddamn thing.
SamuelHorton@reddit
Considering it's Bondi, I'm surprised she isn't talking about the death penalty.
Intelligent-Sir1375@reddit
Yeah you burn cars you get as much time as second hand murder that seams like justice/s
RockyCreamNHotSauce@reddit
Wouldn't it be easy to request a jury trial and get an acquittal from a few sympathetic jurors because the charges are overly harsh? If I were a juror, I would say if it's a state arson charge, guilty. Federal terrorism or arson with threat of maximum sentence? Not guilty.
Gold-Piece2905@reddit
And yet, Trump can get away Scott free for what he's done.
michael_mullet@reddit
Good.
Remember when there were protests against Bud light and delivery trucks were ambushed and burned down? Remember beer displays at grocery stores were destroyed by mobs?
That didn't happen because people on the right aren't violent animals like progressive leftists.
Brighton337@reddit
Remember when the White House was stormed and police officers were trampled and killed and given permanent brain damage? And piss and shit was left all over the White House???
Remember when trump supporters drove their trucks through peaceful protesting crowds?
Remember when a teenager shot up a bunch of people who were protesting George Floyd?
Get off your high horse. Don’t act like anyone is innocent here.
michael_mullet@reddit
That's quite a list of lies and half Truths and "whataboutism". Don't defend political violence from democrats.
White house was never stormed, human refuse was never left all over it, and no police officers were trampled & killed. What are you even talking about? If you mean Jan 6 then once again no police were killed - several "suicided" later. And those protestors were escorted in by capital police who opened the doors. ( I for one think the Jan 6 protestors were idiots for what it's worth).
The only Trump truck drivers going through crowds that I've seen were surrounded on the street by protestors throwing rocks at them and jumping on the trucks. They sprayed pepper spray so they could get away.
3.Rittenhouse was attacked by a child molesting leftist and did nothing wrong in defending himself. That said, he shouldn't have been there.
Violence is the language of the left. It always has been because progressive ideas are so bad they must be enforced with violence.

This sub has become a karma factory for reposting anything from r/news. The value of the sub declines daily, while the mods do nothing.

Then ICE picks them up in the middle of the night and they wake up in El Salvador.
The government is going to get even dirtier to get back at us.
AndWinterCame@reddit
Fair enough. Though as a technicality, ICE still waits for you to leave your house because they are anxious about the whole not having a warrant thing. We'll see how long even that lasts.
19is_@reddit
About as often as a fart on the moon.
Aramedlig@reddit
Way more often than that and most think. Current rate is 3-4% and is on the rise because respect for the law at the top of our government is eroding.
Objective_Problem_90@reddit
So if you participate in an attempted coup, you get a get out of jail card from the man who is 34 felony criminal but served zero days in prison. Yet you burn some cars, and it's 20 yrs. Yeah, there are two justice systems in America. One for the rich, which is trying to overhaul the country while taking our rights away.

That when there's a school shooting the politician talk and nothing happen to change anything, some car are burned.and they bot react hard. I know it's not the same, my point qas to show that for important thing they will downplay it to avoid changing anything and some other time like burning car they would go all in.
