I live in a nice quiet neighborhood in New Hampshire, and found out something revolting about a neighbor.
Every now and then I’d walk my dogs by his house and will hear arguments between him and his parents.
This is what we are dealing with:
A 30M schizophrenic that lives down the road with his with his parents was arrested late last year for having CP on his computer. I come to find out that IN ADDITION TO THAT, he was actually arrested for sitting out on his deck with a rifle, pointing it at the surrounding houses and talking through his sad the parents would be if he started shooting. Allegedly he made a video on Instagram but I’m unable to find it.
I have kids and I’m sick to my fucking stomach. If he were to do something terrible, would anyone be surprised? No.
Obviously the cops know the situation but I saw him walking his dog the other day down the road. He’s out on bail and not even on house arrest.
So, what options do I have? What should I do to protect my family and community? How do I get this disgusting POS out of my neighborhood.

If he still has access to firearms after being convicted of possession of CP, call the ATF to have him arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

So if he was arrested for CP, assuming he was convicted- he would be a felon…
Then arrested again for the gun incident…would tack an additional felon in possession charge which in most stays carries an automatic 2 years in prison.
So this doesn't really track…not saying you're wrong, but you might want to verify the information…should be easy. Check your local sex offender registry and your circuit court’s Odyssey for any court proceedings involving him.

I’m real late to the party here, but you’ve got wayyyyy too much faith in the system. Locally a guy literally chopped through the wall of a gun store and stole nearly 150 firearms, traded them for a $1000 in cash and another $1000 worth of heroin. Proceeded to get busted with a large quantity of heroin, out of jail a month later tops, robbed a gun shop again this time for a much smaller haul, got picked up with a backpack of stolen guns as a result of a minor traffic infraction and maybe another month later was out again.

Here’s how I understand it.
He was arrested for creating that gun video. Then at a later date he got into an argument with his parents (over his laptop) and the cops were called. They found the CP on his computer. I believe he is out on bail.

Here is what google shows me
on 16 felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse images. He was accused of possessing photos of girls being raped and assaulted on June 11, 2024.
I’m sick man. How can I find out when his court date is? How tf is he out and not on noise arrest?

I mean generally house arrest is reserved crimes of a violent nature. I agree with you 100%, he should NOT be out though.
So, June 11, 2024 he was formally charged. He would have had a preliminary exam sometime late June - early July. Then trial is USUALLY a handful of months after that. BUT….hes schizo so it will most likely take longer since both prosecution and defense will do competency tests and shit.
All court proceedings are public record. So if you look up the circuit court for your county and go to their website. You'll see something call odyssey or OPA (most common names) where you can look up someones court proceedings by Nam e

Yes I am coincidentally a soon to be responsible gun owner. And we have a home security system.
I like that idea but no realistic homelessness around us.
Part of me feels for the parents but do I shame them out of the neighborhood???

And just put it into everyone’s mailbox in the immediate area. Include pics of him so people know what he looks like. That’s the best way to take precautions against the pedo

I appreciate that. I’m struggling with sympathy for his house but also will do anything for my family. My kids are more important than his parents. I need them gone.

Yep, agreed. Even before I had a child, it was like an innate understanding that the right thing to do is to protect the innocent children.
In terms of ethics, the parents relocating is unfortunate collateral damage— but by far the lesser of evils.
I’ve been thinking about how to get them to leave, obviously the easiest answer would be to have an extraordinary amount of disposable wealth and bribe them away.
I’m not sure how feasible it would be to cause something that gets the house condemned anonymously.
It would be extremely unethical to write them a series of anonymous threats that are scary enough to make them afraid, but not overt enough to get you arrested if they’re traced back to you.
What if you just hired an actor, or someone you trust from another state that couldn’t be recognized to wear a mask and go to their house and threaten them?

Since you won't move, your legal options are limited. Home security system, upgrade your locks to actually good ones not just expensive, do some research on hard to pick deadbolts. Upgrade where your locks mount to your door and jam, longer screws and steel reinforcement plates. Make sure all your window locks are functional and get bars for any sliding glass doors. Lastly it's time to start carrying a gun everywhere you go and one at home, for on you whatever quality pistol fits your hand best, take as many classes as you can afford and practice regularly. For at home nothing beats the ar-15, light and low recoil enough that even brand new shooters won't have an issue. Your wife also needs to get comfortable with the firearms because you can't always be there.

You could always make "Wanted Posters" with his face from the mugshot and a list of accused crimes.... wear a mask and have a hood up when posting. That way everybody knows. And his parents will get embarrassed. Eventually, they might pack up and leave. And other parents will start watching out for him.
For extra spiciness, buy them as vinyl stickers! You can order them in person or online, often you can get 25+ for under $50 in most print shops near me, and THEN THOSE SUCKERS WILL NOT COME OFF. When he's gone, get some silly stickers and plaster over them!
You can also search this sub - tons of great ideas, from piss disks to sardine in the curtains and more!
If the trial doesn't go the way we both want it to and he's out on house arrest, go for round 2! You could mail him random items and letters, but that will probably trigger psychosis. Instead, you could FART SPRAY or use good ol' STINKBOMBS, and either throw them at the house/spray their cars and possessions. Or, if they're not home, get close enough to get it in the garage or under the house. Again, buy disposable face masks and wear generic hoodies. Do whatever you can to make living in that house hell. You're not next door neighbors, so floodlights pointed at them isn't something you can do.
Frankly, these people should be living out in the woods in a cabin so their dangerous bullshit doesn't hurt anyone else. They honest to god are endangering a neighborhood full of people - any good parent would pack up and leave to protect the other children and protect their own child from an angry parent like you!

I'm sorry you're going through this OP. The real unethical tip will be to move before a registered sex offender ends up living very close to you and you'll have to disclose it and it impacts your ability to sell or the value of the property.
You can consider obtaining licensure for a home daycare to guarantee they, or at least he, will have to move out if he is convicted. Make sure you write the judge a letter after conviction and before sentencing using this as a reason to keep him out of the neighborhood afterwards, even if he somehow ends up with house arrest due to mental illness or what not. License could be declined if you do it after conviction and he's there first. No need to actually take in clients, just be licensed to do so with the aspirations of starting your business in the very near future. This will also make any hypothetical incident involving your family even more concerning since he could be a threat not just to a home, but a daycare.

He sounds like he certainly shouldn't be legally possessing a firearm. Police need to be involved and certainly the parents should be culpable for providing access to firearms to is likely a felon.

Maybe call for random welfare checks idk. At least keep him on local PDs radar. Be sure to be anonymous as the fucker may be crazy enough to do an open records request and find out who called. When you call list the reasons above and report suspicious behavior like the arguments you mentioned, as all as behaving “strangely”. Keep it vague.

Yeah I could do that but I’m unaware of when he’s home. I don’t know if he has a car. I really only see home once a month or so walking his dog. I’ll take action and call then.
I have sympathy for his parents, even though I don’t k ow them, but I’m wondering how we can “shame” the family away, without him getting violent.

You can petition the court to put him in an involuntary psychiatric hold. It may be more persuasive if your neighbors sign it too.
