2025 FAA Directives for GA

I just received an email from vRef ( i know they are trying to sell their services ) stating that 2025 FAA directives will impact GA. >We’ve seen this story play out before. One moment, your aircraft’s value is solid. The next—bam—a new FAA directive rolls out, upgrade costs surge, and suddenly you're staring down a six-figure repair bill… or worse, a grounded plane no one wants to buy. This isn’t speculation. It’s déjà vu. >In 2010, aircraft without ADS-B upgrades lost up to 20% in value overnight. >In 2018, a single inspection mandate left Cessna 210 owners with $45K bills—and no buyers. >In 2014, Bonanza owners watched resale prices drop by 25% in weeks. >And now, it’s happening again. In 2025, new FAA compliance deadlines will hit hard. These aren’t optional tweaks. They’re mandatory upgrades to avionics, structures, and powerplants. And if your aircraft isn’t compliant? Does anyone know if this is accurate and if so what are the new directives?

I don't know, that's what I'm asking. Are there new FAA directives that are going to be mandatory this year like ADS-B out was 15 years ago. I see my highlighting was wrong on the quoted text in the email I copied and probably sent up red flags. "I think he's trying to get people to panic-sell their old beater GA aircraft to bring the prices down so he can get a better deal." - no, I'm just worried that I'm barely able to justify keeping my cherokee flying as it is and if there's some changes coming to avionic requirements, like new channel spacing, or transponder frequencies I won't be able to afford it much longer without serious planning ahead. "Examples?" - that's what I'm asking for. Is there any thing coming in 2025 like the folks at vRef are scaring me about? "You commented “Does anyone know the new directives?”… so you don’t even know what you’re trying to make people panic over?" - I'm not trying to make anyone panic, I'm trying to not panic myself. Use quotation marks or some other way to differentiate what is you and what is the cut and paste you did. People can’t tell what you are saying and it looks like you are super hyped up about something, but I think it is the cut and paste.

If you are worried about ADs, they aren't new and have been around forever. New ones will be found and people will comply with them. It's part of owning an aircraft. ADS-B never cost that much to install, especially compared to your annual operating costs for most GA aircraft. 210s do not all need the spar replacement, they just have to be inspected. The same goes for Cherokees with the spar eddy current inspection, most are far below the hours and meet the conditions required to not require further work. Bonanza ruddervators have been scarce since forever, nothing new there. Somehow there are many still flying.
