I live in the US tobacco smoking is much lower here, but everytime I visit anywhere in Europe, the smoking just destroys it for me. Its like people are smoking everywhere, hopefully those percenatages go down, the stuff just ruins your body

The upside is nicotine, and it has many beneficial effects. The negative part is that the only safe way to consume it is NRT ( gum, patch, inhaler ).

Even though the NRT is minimal if no damage, i had to stop it since it disrupts your dopamine cycles and makes you a slave always looking for a fix.

You can read up on nicotine ( the substance not tobacco) It’s a nootropic. Basically it’s been scientifically proven to help with memory, focus, preventing Alzheimer. A lot of people discover after stopping that they have depression symptoms or even Adhd for which nicotine works as self medication.

For anyone else struggling to quit with helper products: going cold turkey is 4 days of insanity and after that it's manageable. If possible, quarantine yourself away from work and family for the first two days of rage. 3rd day there's jitters, a lot of them. 4th is straight up visions (as in waking dreams with your eyes open ) of you inhaling cigarettes. On the 5th day sanity is restored.
