Nice system and drivers and/or recovery cd's be floating around in event they are needed. Enjoy, as Sony made some nice yet quirky hardware!

oh boy Pentium 4, what a monster, must be a cooking pan under load

I was wondering about that lol. I wanted a vintage PC laptop since I basically only have Macs. Ended up with a Dell Inspiron 8000. Absolutely love the Pentium III. It’s pretty quick for what it is. P4s always felt extremely slow to me

A working VIAO? Must never have been turned on. I look for stability in a retro system. It needs to be a tank.
If all you want is something to fill a timeline slot in a collection its great, but the all plastic build quality is not.
Viao are made from the absolutely cheapest hardware possible. Back in mid 2005 I had three customer systems fail with backlight issues the replacement backlights available at the time also failed.

Since when are Vaio’s unreliable? I used to have one from this era, it worked great. I currently have a “modern” one with a second gen quad core i7 (2670qm?) that I’ve owned for over a decade and it works great too

Some of the early VAIO case designs were aesthetic perfection, though

*VAIO
Anyways, other that i broke the charger (not original, it was an universal charger) by leaving it plugged in, and initially the HDD was fucked, and i replaced it with a working one that was put inside a PC with fried RAM. Some idiot probably put the HDD upside down, 60GB to waste.

Looks like it’s elongated but it’s not

VAIO's from that time period are excellent machines. It looks like it is in excellent shape.
