Solan looked the most like Lucy. Adrienne always looked so much more like Hudson in bone structure, etc, just darker of course.

eve ended up looking more like xena, though i wouldn't have been surprised if she looked blond as her other mother/soul that became her was a blond.

solan doesn't look like anyone in the family. While xena says it was borias whom spawn him in her, i feel like there had to have been some blondie whom did it. that or the side effect of the curse alti did was to make him look different like blond.

I always had trouble envisioning Solan as the child of the dark haired Borias and the dark haired Xena. Unless Kaleipus bleached his hair as part of the centaur witness protection program?

Plus, Solan was so … bland. There was no … spark. Or fire. Nothing that indicated he had any of the recklessness and willpower shared by his parents.

I don't think Solan was meant to be anything like Xena or Borias. This wasn't like Livia/Eve who supposedly inherited some of Callisto's personality as her reincarnation. Solan was a normal person and I think he was meant to be innocent, more like Gabrielle than Xena.

No matter how much he might persuade himself that he was a warrior, he didn't have the spark or the aggression to be one. His personality shows the goodness and innocence that would have turned Xena from her evil ways if Alti hadn't interfered.

Kaleipus clearly refused to give Solan any training but allowed him to do what he chose, and Solan tried to be a warrior. He was a reckless child thinking he could fight Dagnine, but after that episode he mellowed out and was a nice boy with a staff, just like Gab, before he died. Xena liked him that way.

Sure, Xena liked him that way. But, as a viewer, I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Xena in him - personality and looks. It doesn’t really matter to me given his limited appearances.

Agree. I thought they could have done a better job of casting Solan, and especially so when they re-cast him in God Fearing Child.

Based on looks and personality, Adrienne was more convincing as xenas child.

Solan was like Xena! He inherited her tracking skills and, apparently, the Amazon tree climbing skills, as he jumped out at her. And he had a strong willful spirit, that he was able to choose his afterlife, and endured what he did in the underworld. .

Definitely Adrienne, not only in looks but attitude. I think Solan was meant to be the spark of light that Xena couldn’t believe came from her and Borias. Though when it comes to Solan’s hair - it is strange that it is SO light but I imagined his hair would darken over time and he would be brunette by the time he turned 20. I feel like Xena was born a brunette and her hair darkened throughout her life. I mean, Xena’s season six hair is a lot darker than her first appearance on Hercules (I’m sure it wasn’t planned this way, but still interesting).

As you could see both personalities in her when she was “Livia.”

Solan looks and acts more like Gabrielle’s child, especially early Gabby, than Xena’s.
