The Ferrari 456GT Venice (wagon), made in just 7 units, 6 of which are owned by the Sultan of Brunei.

gtc4 lussos weird cousin

The Sultan of Brunei, of course, of course.... Doest the Sultan of Brunei own all the weird cars in the world? Or just most of them?
boundone@reddit
So, Ferrari will build you a custom car, but they won't do it unless seven are ordered. that's why you always see that number when the Sultan's odd cars come up, he just buys seven himself.
Quasarcoatl@reddit
That's false. They have a one-off programm where they build you exactly that (a one-off). All their custom programs don't force you to buy anything more than what you want.
Bind_Moggled@reddit
Some rich people collect horses, some collect yachts, some buy democratic countries to overthrow, he collects weird cars.
HenkPoley@reddit
If you ask ChatGPT " Who is this talking about?" it asks Bing for a bit, and comes up with either Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan al Nahyan of the UAE, or Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei. 😆
Plutoid@reddit
He steals the wealth of his country for an insane obsession with cars that end up rotting in warehouses.
Hertje73@reddit
Not surprised
tomridesbikes@reddit
Maybe someone else knows, how expensive is it to get custom glass made for a car? I understand how they can make body panels but that one off glass would make me not want to drive the car at all.
yoshimutso@reddit
That means 90 percent of those vehicles are now mouldy af
tomridesbikes@reddit
Most of the unique coachbuilt cars would still sell for unbelievable money to be restored. The special cars would still be worth something for being part of the collection.
EclipseButNotSolar@reddit
Yeah. His cars were found at an abandoned storage facility of some sorts where the A/C had failed. And most of these cars had little to no mileage.
Most_scar_993@reddit
Is this just some rumor or is there actual footage or something of it?
HerpDerpleton@reddit
There have been multiple image posts circulating on a few of the car subreddits, including this one, about it.
caucafinousvehicle@reddit
About 1200pics were leaked not long ag9
bobwasnthere99999@reddit
And the 7th?
TurboDeez_Nuts_54@reddit (OP)
There are some pics of it roaming around San Francisco, apparently.
OgdenDermstead@reddit
Yes it's green over green and was seen extensively at Monterey Car Week this past year. I believe sold through Michael Sheehan since he's traded through a couple of the ex-Brunei cars iirc.

Who would have thought, the sultan was an ass man.

How Enzo could agree with that?

More money for the racing team? Si!
DefMech@reddit
I don’t think these are official made-by-Ferrari Ferraris. Pininfarina did a lot of third party coachbuilds using production Ferraris as the foundation and I think the Venice series was one of them. Nobody better to do it since they’re the ones who designed the 456 in the first place.
Rd6-vt@reddit
remember, Ferrari road cars only exist to fund the racing team
butt_huffer42069@reddit
You'd think they would do better at racing
TurboDeez_Nuts_54@reddit (OP)
We do not talk about their 2020 F1 car. We just don't.
czardmitri@reddit
Too bad it’s not a shooting brake. THAT would be cool.
TurboDeez_Nuts_54@reddit (OP)
There's always the FF and GTC4 for that.
sayzitlikeitis@reddit
Probably the most tasteful custom vehicle in his collection
AnxiousHelicopter337@reddit
Goddamn Sultan Again!?!?!?
Additional_Moose_862@reddit
That guy starts to annoy me.
JCMotors@reddit
I would love a Hot Wheels of that
GentleHawk1@reddit
A series of miniatures of the Sultan's cars would sell very well. This collection is already legendary.
fairlylocaal@reddit
Looks so normal yet so crazy at the same time!

All I can see is Peugeot 406 break
plungerism@reddit
So the sultan of brunei likes really rare stuff, or he has really bad taste.
Flyingdutchman2305@reddit
He just buys to buy, he has like 4-5 McLaren F1s, he has i believe an audi or a lambo with a night vision system from an Apache attack helicopter, several F40s etc etc
plungerism@reddit
fair enough
baldude69@reddit
I wonder how many of his cars he hasn’t driven
EclipseButNotSolar@reddit
Weren't his cars, like, found in some abandoned storage facility where A/C had failed and the cars were covered in mold? When I've learned that most of his cars have little to no mileage I was kinda sad.
Flyingdutchman2305@reddit
Noone can drive that many cars, i believe the high end stuff is fairly well stored but he bought hundreds of S classes or c classes and they were all in some warehouse
RoseWould@reddit
Both. Some of his cars vary between questionable interiors, to "this dude has way too much time and money", with the occasional extremely rare untouched gem.
ashyjay@reddit
They don't just buy cars, they are very short run commissions, just for them. the 1 Venice which escaped is an oddity.
Rennfan@reddit
You can say what you want - but this man did his best to keep the wagon bodystyle en vogue
TimepieceProfstitute@reddit
The Sultan must have been or be the #1, or close to #1 Ferrari customer, with the sheer number of custom cars he's ordered over the years.
tetzy@reddit
I love these - it's rare to find a stretched custom that looks as good as the original, but this does.
clarksworth@reddit
Agreed. Top 5 dream car for me.
