What’s a Swiss Gunshop Like? | Chinese Norinco T97NSR-A 5.56mm | AATS-Group GmbH | Burgdorf, Switzerland

I visited AATS-Group, which is a very professional firearms dealer in Burgdorf, Switzerland. They have a large, elegantly-designed retail space with a wide range of new and used firearms. Their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly--they offered me a cup of coffee and it was better than what you get for $5.95 at Starbucks.
Here is a Chinese Norinco Type 97 NSR-A Semi-Automatic Rifle in 5.56mm NATO. It takes AR mags which are quite convenient for anyone who owns and shoots military-style rifles. It also has the full picatinny rail on top. Chinese-made firearms are frequently seen in European gun stores because they are relatively inexpensive and actually have a very good reputation for quality and durability.
More cool stuff coming, stay tuned!
Below is the AATS-Group website if you are interested in learning more about this great business.

Canadians are so lucky they get this stuff for cheap.

Well, not the 97A specifically. The difference between the A and the Canadian version is that the A retains the OOB safety where the NSR omits it.
It would have the same problem being imported into the US if there were no other import laws preventing it.
It’s still safe without that safety for the same reasons an AR-15 doesn’t need one, you’ll just get a click instead of a dead trigger.

Sadly not anymore all banned. Though we still have the SKS.

If you owned it originally, before the ban, same with a handgun, are you still allowed to own it per a grandfather clause?

As of right now. I believe the plan appears to be a forced buy back. The government has yet to provide a concrete plan on how and when they will do it.
Additionally there is the added complexity that many rifles like the T97 were classified as non restricted so they are not registered to their owners. So they need to figure out how to get them all back.

That's a shame.
