I would say it belongs here. 1st gen Jetta with everything that can be fitted from CITI GOLF

I understand that not everybody will find it weird, but to me this is very wierd, even though it makes sence to build this, since it's basicaly very advanced lego cause they are essenticaly same car.
Joes_Pizzeria@reddit
Put a BMW badge on it and it‘ll be an E30 lol
lasskinn@reddit
Well it's just like 90s german tuning or late 80s.
Makes me want an irmscher manta though
roflcopter-pilot@reddit
Definitely big „we have E30 at home” vibes
R3VIVAL-MOD3@reddit
Put nice wheels on it and the thing is perfect
mrsirawesome@reddit
It is from South Africa, Durban to be exact.
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
You know that from a plate, or know something more about the car? I would be glad if someone knew more.
C4Cole@reddit
From the plate probably, ND is the area code for Durban. Also I believe the car would be badged as a VW Fox, instead of Jetta.
The CitiGolf parts seem to be from a newer model, can't tell what year but definitely a post 90s one.
mrsirawesome@reddit
You're right about the badging, this is a Fox, although I've never seen a two door before
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
Yeah, looks like post 00 R line version
mrsirawesome@reddit
Yea From the plate, I'm South African
burningmiles@reddit
We have E30 at home
doeffgek@reddit
Looks clean, but why no stock bumpers? They’re interchangeable too
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
These are Stock to citigolf R line. So i think they suit the theme.
doeffgek@reddit
Aha.. that cat is new to me. Thought about normal Golf Mk1
OttoVonCranky@reddit
Not even slightly weird. I think the first gen Jetta was the best looking.
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
I understand. For me, it's wierd that someone took a now classic car (discontinued in 83) And used all parts from "same" car that was made until 2009.
OttoVonCranky@reddit
That has to be somewhere that does not experience rust.
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
I assume South Africa as it would cost a fortune to buy everything from CITI GOLF R line that was needed for this.
PsychoLynx82@reddit
Those number plates indicate the car is from Kwazulu Natal province in South Africa.

Neat
72corvids@reddit
I absolutely love it! Lawd, I'd drive this thing every damn day!
Mr1d1an@reddit
Never seen a 2 door Jetta before
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
Both MK 1 And MK 2 were made as coupés. I've also seen homebrewed MK 3 And MK 4 s .
FesteringNeonDistrac@reddit
I remember following a build thread on the vortex with the guy building that mk4. I've never been into VW but it was a cool build with ton of work put in and well executed
Fake-Podcast-Ad@reddit
Makes me think of the VW Fox, only it would be called "la renarde" and she would be hunted with only her cunning to protect her.
FireDragonMonkey@reddit
Looks very clean! Excellent execution; one would hardly tell at first glance (except the wheels) that it didn't come this way from the factory.
KarmicDeficit@reddit
I really, really, really hate the wheels on this. I quite dig everything else.
_Schrodingers_Gat_@reddit
GTA e30
Capri280@reddit
Looks great with the modern accoutrements. Though I think the wheels could have been an inch or two smaller
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
Well those are also OEM from CITI GOLF, so i understand the choice.
Capri280@reddit
Ah, that's surprising. They look like rubberbands on a car like this
Karlos742@reddit (OP)
As i wrote i think you're right they are bigger, but same design as CITI GOLF R line. So you're right. But for me it's still good.
Lollerscooter@reddit
I think this looks super weird
MrRickSter@reddit
That really is beautiful, I love that. I’ve seen a stock Mk1 Golf recently and it holds up well.
Jouvuilhond@reddit
Super clean and very nice. Even cooler was the opposite swop when taking jetta headlights (square type) and grill and swap into the citi golf
