My time there has been pretty limited only because of the low activity (and a fair amount of content duplicated from elsewhere), but if there's a reason that's the case then it'd be good to know. So, after my initial reply to this comment I went researching to refresh my memory on what's up with Tildes. It seems the main goal of the site's creator (who apparently also is the person who created the Reddit u/automoderator) was to create a place for civil, polite, and respectful discussion. As such, the site is indeed heavily moderated to meet those goals.

I strongly suspect (particularly with your lack of reply even though I asked the question almost immediately after you made this comment) that you are the type of person who is unable to meet such civility requirements, and thus your complaint is a misleading denial of your own culpability in getting yourself banned. Therefore, I tend to doubt the veracity of your complaint.

There are plenty of other sites where you can get your childish self-righteous bullshit fix. Just because Tildes doesn't put up with such crap doesn't make it a poor alternative. In fact it raises my interest in reconnecting with the site. Here's hoping activity levels have improved since my last visit.
