I just watched his hill climb. It looks like he lost himself, when he crossed the finish line. He not even tried to break it... thankfully. He is with us
Has he ever explained his thought process of why he didn’t brake? I know the guys have chided him for it and all that, but I don’t ever remember hearing any type of why.

Have they ever shown actual crash footage?
NONFATBACON@reddit
There are multiple cameras on the car that they show during the run so I’m sure footage existed but they must have chosen to not show it.

They said the car footage was lost in the fire
geek_of_nature@reddit
One of them said that because the crash happened after the finish line, they didn't have any cameras pointed that way.

An anti-speeding advert should be footage of Richard Hammond trying to remember his own wedding day”
(thanks Frankie)

He needed to carb-load

Unpopular opinion, he did it deliberately because he thought it would be good television, but it didn’t go as well as he thought it would
Concodroid@reddit
he drove off a hillside deliberately at high speed?
Putrid_Culture_9289@reddit
That's an *idiotic opinion
stackin_papers@reddit
Did they ever say his time?
PaleShadowNight@reddit
Some say Clarkson said over the radio "for the love of god Hammond do not fart your on fire"
magooisim@reddit
So he's not coming on, then?

IIRC he said he missed the finish line, he thought he still had more to go. Then he gets to the next corner, realises it's not the track and crashes.
