My Xena costume.

I was such a Xena fan as a kid. My aunt decorated a body suit with gold puffy paint (I think that’s what you’d call it)

Yes, I have socks pulled up to look like boots and yes, that is our family dog (sometimes Argo) pooping in the background.

This photo is from 96-97 when I was about 8 or 9.

I had so many Xena action figures and dolls.

I was Xena for Halloween a few years in a row! My mom made me the costume from a Simplicity pattern and even let me put (temporary) black dye in my red hair.

Did the person taking photo see dog pooping in background at the time? Animals do have a tendency to assert themselves at inopportune moments. (Hmm, Callisto my have influenced photographer, puppy or both.) Whatever, it makes your moment of glory even more ... memorable.
