jwhildeb@reddit
Can't believe I had to scroll so far for this.
LifePotential9972@reddit
Make sure you never flip it and wind up upside down.
FarmBoyGuns@reddit
Fantastic car. I'm worried that it maybe mistaken for a Tesla buy some idiot. I'd get a magnetic sign saying "not a Tesla"
Thom5001@reddit
Looks like a Roomba
benjancewicz@reddit
This is the kind of cool the Cybertruck wishes it could be
thatswhyshe@reddit
What do you mean? this is almost a direct copy of the rayfield caliburn from cyberpunk.
bacondesign@reddit
He's talking about elmo's dumpster swasticar
thatswhyshe@reddit
Oh. I just saw cyber with a k at the end and immediately thought cyberpunk. Not cybertruck.
Squrton_Cummings@reddit
Is it possible to learn this power?
thatswhyshe@reddit
It’s a concept that people have started to subconsciously and consciously learn to try and read faster by the shape of a word rather the letters in the word. It’s called the “bouma shape”
tikhonjelvis@reddit
haha, I read it exactly the same way at first
DRob78@reddit
🤨.. have you played Cyberpunk?
benjancewicz@reddit
No, why?
Extension_Juice_9889@reddit
Was going to say this exact thing. Also clearly owes a debt to giugiaro's own Maserati concept from the 70s
ralph442000@reddit
I was surprised to see it’s a new car. I expected it to be a concept car from the ‘70’s with that style and how the door opens. I still think it’s pretty damn cool though.
gregorytoddsmith@reddit
We calling that a door?
GreggAlan@reddit
Yes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehRJcFYJ0Bk
glytxh@reddit
Those old geometric stylings have been all the rage for the last five years, and that design language has really embedded into current visual trends.
We live in a weird moment in time where visual language has turned into a smouldering pot of the past few centuries of artistic influence. Genres, eras and trends are becoming increasingly overlapped and increasingly influencing each other.
iAmSamFromWSB@reddit
That seems like a dressed up way of saying this decade lacks a unique imprint of design and instead pulls from previous decades, not centuries. In a way, lacking originality and authenticity. I am digging the 80’s rehash, but the return of the mullet marks the end of times and rise of stupidity.
glytxh@reddit
I think any era’s unique identity only really becomes obvious in retrospect.
Lived through the 90s, 00, and 10s, and I would ever say that it ever felt ‘distinct’ at the moment.
I won’t deny that we’re stuck in a massively commodified nostalgia loop though, and 60 years of that process has kinda boiled into the weird soup we’re currently living in.
We’re only halfway through the current decade, and shit’s getting spicy. Art’s gonna (and already has) pick up on this massive cultural shift.
iAmSamFromWSB@reddit
How would you retrospectively characterize the unique style elements of the 2010’s that stood out from previous decades?
BestMillimeter18@reddit
Looks like a Dome Zero combined with a Pantera
AbelardLuvsHeloise@reddit
Mercedes C-111 eating a Cybertruck from the inside out
Amtracer@reddit
I think it’s cool too. It’d just suck to get in and out of in the rain
iammonkeyorsomething@reddit
I was thinking it was either 70s,80s,90s or now. Nothing in between
ostiDeCalisse@reddit
Splendid lines. I really like that the car can be in a totally flat shape, without any asperities pointing out.
jubjub944@reddit
I’d totally be seen in it. Maybe not, what with the chromed glass. Reminds me of the Mercedes C311. Just love seeing something that has smooth, cohesive interesting surfaces and doesn’t look like a Darth Vader helmet.
Stillcouldbeworse@reddit
so it's a 2026 one-off made in 2025?
OvertonsWindow@reddit
Do you know how car releases often work?
Onivlastratos@reddit
I agree that this system seems absurd. If it's finished now, why should it be dated as a 2026 car ?
OvertonsWindow@reddit
It may seem a surf but it’s how cars are commonly released.
Onivlastratos@reddit
Yes, but I don't understand why. Could you please explain that ?
Stillcouldbeworse@reddit
I'm seeing a one-off car built in 2025
fishtankm29@reddit
Cyber-roach
Saticron@reddit
How to make a low-poly car that actually looks good: (tesla needs to learn a thing or two from this)
MrCrix@reddit
Absolutely gorgeous. One massive design flaw though. I have a 90 CR-X SiR and with a glass roof, glass hatch and all the normal glass it's super cool driving around in a bubble. However even with the bronze tinted glass that reflects a lot of the sun, that son of a bitch heats up with the greenhouse effect like crazy when left in the sun. I can see that happening here but to like the power of 5 compared to my car.
Poagie_Mahoney@reddit
I had a second-hand 86 CRX (regular 1500cc version) without a "moonroof" (as Honda then called it) and even then that thing was such a greenhouse that the AC was ineffective both during Maryland summers and most of Florida year-round (where I went to college and lived since graduation). I put up with it for a while but traded it for a second-hand POS 98 Ford Contour V-6. Worst decision in my life. While the Contour drove nice for my tastes at the time, after a couple of years it became a maintenance nightmare (the mill was good but all the other systems needed replacement at the same time and it became so expensive. Looking back, a little extra sweating was the much cheaper option.
GreatBallsOfFIRE@reddit
UV coatings have come a long way in the last 35 years.
bandley3@reddit
The old man’s still got it after all these years - damn…
SiikPhoque@reddit
Wouldn't this blind everyone who you're sharing the road with?
TankApprehensive3053@reddit
Looks something a Cylon would drive.
comoestasmiyamo@reddit
cool cool cool cool cool
So_Slappy@reddit
Very 70s. I love it.
milkbeard-@reddit
20 photos and not a single eye level shot from the front with the passenger compartment closed. Makes me wonder if it doesn’t look good from that angle
Upset_Koala_401@reddit
GMe her to say this lol, how hard to take a normal picture that shows what the car looks like?
bryanthebryan@reddit
This is the retro future we need.
LaserGadgets@reddit
My head is playing the cyberpunk 2077 theme.
ManyWrongdoer9365@reddit
Looks like the bastard child of a Cyber Truck and a Lamborghini, sweet though
DinoSnatcher@reddit
That looks amazing
SmartBookkeeper6571@reddit
Gorgeous. I wonder if there's any go with all that show.
wantdafakyoubesh@reddit
Close enough, welcome back Apple Mouse🖱️
SunriseMilkshake@reddit
I love it
MDDeGrande1994@reddit
Looks like that one Cyberpunk 2077 car which also appeared in Forza Horizon 4
Rowarski@reddit
Now thats a cyberpunk car! Eat your heart out MuskRat!
Ok-Bullfrog6099@reddit
Wow
AntofReddit@reddit
Least I wouldn't have to clean the snow off the roof here in Canada.
72corvids@reddit
It's also built off of the MC20 chassis.
I think that it is absolutely gorgeous and quite the design!
apaloosafire@reddit
pantera vibes
GreatBallsOfFIRE@reddit
Guigario designed the DeTomasso Mangusta, the Pantera's predecessor.
apaloosafire@reddit
ah makes sense
Gonun@reddit
I heard you like doors so I put doors on your door
AccomplishedSuccess0@reddit
Mexico made a way better cyber car than musk could ever dream of right here.
Cunt_Eastwood_10@reddit
I love this, but I bet the cabin gets REALLY hot.
GreatBallsOfFIRE@reddit
For those unfamiliar, Giorgetto Giugario designed an insane number of iconic cars. The list includes the DeLorean DMC-12, the Lotus Esprit, the BMW M1, the VW Golf, and the DeTomasso Mangusta.
KSM_K3TCHUP@reddit
The Golf of course being his best work to date.
KSM_K3TCHUP@reddit
He turned turned the Cybertruck into a super car and made the rear end look cool, it’s dripping with boring 80’s futuristic design and I love it.
CensoredRetard@reddit
If a Lambo & a Cyber Truck had a baby.
Embarrassed_Dog_3208@reddit (OP)
This GFG Style one-off car also drew heavy inspiration from the 1972 Maserati Boomerang which is a futuristic wedge-shaped concept car designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro.
B_Roland@reddit
Looks like it took inspiration from a couple of classics.
The front looks inspired by a DeTomaso. The overall rear by more modern Lamborghini's. The trunk and rear window section is looking inspired by the Countach.
g-e-o-f-f@reddit
The way the roof lifts looks like the old Sterling kit car.
GreatBallsOfFIRE@reddit
You should take a look at the list of cars that Guigario designed (it includes the DeTomasso Mangusta).
lopix@reddit
Looks like a Robocop Lambo
ZuStorm93@reddit
I love everything about this except the Cybertruck face. Thats a turnoff. The rest of the body definitely has big Countach and M1 vibes.
Its also so shiny and chrome.🤩
GreatBallsOfFIRE@reddit
The person that designed this also designed the M1.
DiosMIO_Limon@reddit
I think we should allow more things to have similar shapes and lines as the Cybertruck. I can understand the tendency ti compare, but there’s no sense in letting that lemon rule over entire categories of vehicles.
spideyghetti@reddit
The reason they don't is because they are terribly dangerous for pedestrians, who will basically be sheared in half when they're struck
DiosMIO_Limon@reddit
I mean, this particular car isn’t any different than other super cars, if only a little boxier. I understand what you’re saying about the Cybertruck specifically, but my argument is that other cars should have the freedom to be boxier without the relatively unfair comparison to the Tesla.
OvertonsWindow@reddit
Most of the comparisons to the cybertruck are that this car looks much much better.
When the cybertruck was initially announced I assumed it would look cool. It doesn’t.
VEC7OR@reddit
Ride it to Valhalla!
sireatalot@reddit
Giugiaro has been designing the same car for more than 50 years now
Onivlastratos@reddit
Don't care+still looks good
djscoots10@reddit
I need it
acidbathe@reddit
Reminds me of the Herrera Outlaw Weiler from cyberpunk a lot. Beautiful
Free_Broccoli_804@reddit
The world definitively needs more quirky cars like this!
h8darkwads@reddit
So dumb. If you go to get in it while it's snowing hard, the whole inside is gonna be covered in snow.
malapropistic_spoonr@reddit
No windshield whippers. Pass.
ArchStanton75@reddit
And if it’s in an accident, the paramedics are never getting to the car’s occupants. It’s a driving coffin.
h8darkwads@reddit
in case, /s
delicate10drills@reddit
Giorgey, what are the flaps at the back of the hatch for? Fast food drive thru handoffs? Top-of-mountain in-car smoke breaks?
Love that he’s revisiting & refining his old visions with updated components, materials, and methods.
shapu@reddit
That may be one of the most perfect cars I have ever seen
JanuaryChili@reddit
2026? 🤔🤔
BiggerDamnederHeroer@reddit
it's beautiful. impractical AF, but that misses the point. Also, that guy's entitled-dumb-ass sons give shitty human vibes.
ArchonStranger@reddit
I need it in black.
Nothingnoteworth@reddit
You can have it in any colour you want; as long as it’s Pantone: Mirrored 1980s shades
Pinkskippy@reddit
We’re gonna need a taller garage.
Blueprints_reddit@reddit
Strong Vector W8 and Lamborghini vibes with some NSX front end.
taltreshortropeORION@reddit
Zero Visibility super car cant tell front from ass
Speed_Addixt@reddit
I really like Giugiaro and his work, but this thing looks like Diablos brother who lacks few chromosomes.
Tree_killer_76@reddit
Black Moon Rising vibes
FoxtrotZero@reddit
Goddamn, it looks like a Syd Mead illustration, I love it.
fzwo@reddit
Super cool exterior, but what's with the first-generation iPhone in the center console? Generally, the dash seems uninspired (except for the row of vents, which I dig).
DarthMeow504@reddit
That front end is very DeTamaso Pantera
Kind-Ad9038@reddit
When billionaire car doors just aren't enough.
https://youtu.be/0oV4IVy8tvE?t=70
XCIXproblems@reddit
That car is straight out of Shadowrun
spideyghetti@reddit
This has to be a Will I Am car, surely
Shadow0opS@reddit
I dont usually like new cars, but I fancy this one. Very nice.
hell2pay@reddit
Me want
Key-Flamingo2676@reddit
See, this is what we need, creativity, something unique, something quirky. Instead of the Sam thing gen 2 and gen 3 crap. I like this car
rean2@reddit
Damn, this is like a 70s concept car come to life
MEMESTER80@reddit
Looks like something Syd Mead would design.
A_VERY_LARGE_DOG@reddit
Lotus Countach, neat!
coffee_shakes@reddit
I am so here for this.
MrBlenderson@reddit
Who left the Countach and the Cybertruck alone together?
Nashvegas@reddit
Vector/Countach/Diablo vibes with some Sterling Nova.
The_Strom784@reddit
This is stupid in that old 80s way. I love it!
Skeptic_Juggernaut84@reddit
Desinger: How many air vents do I need to make sure the inside temperature is where I want it?
Builder: Yes.
AndrewIsntCool@reddit
Sick as hell
