Salt increases BP in the short term. If you already have high BP, reducing salt intake is a really great way to jumpstart BP control. But it typically doesn't cause chronic high blood pressure by itself.Â
This is absolutely true, but I do feel like my comment stands, especially since they were almost implying it was the sodium intake, and not the years of eating unhealthy, not exercising (sufficiently), smoking and/or stress.
Did I fucking assume that? No, I fucking didn’t. I’m implying that those are the things that are implicated in chronic hypertension. That’s it. High salt intake doesn’t lead to irreversible hypertension.
Lol yeah he went on to list a bunch of other things that while all can cause high blood pressure, were none of my causes personally. Mine was mainly genetic, and while lifestyle changes such as reducing my sodium intake did help, it took medication to bring it to regularly healthy levels. Typical American diets contain a lot of stuff that are chock full of sodium and many people don’t even realize how much excess of it they regularly consume.
Did you just screw off the top of the shaker and dump it on? Even if you're prepping the meat with salt, you couldn't possibly use all that salt to coat the meat but that generally only works on fish
I love salt too but I can feel my kidneys shriveling with this
Hm good opportunity to dip in some mango or whathaveyou, cross-contamination might be an issue with the raw meat. But, EOD, it's salt and will keep if you go on to use it for other meats.
SuspiciousSeaweed757@reddit
why were you even trying to sprinkle salt over already salty meat and cheese 💀
cyproyt@reddit (OP)
i love salt
Cornfugga@reddit
Me too. Now I have to take blood pressure medication. Watch that sodium intake.

It’s fucking wild that you just assumed all of that about the op with absolutely nothing to go on. Wild.

Reducing my high sodium intake reduced my bp, so yeah, in part it was.
BrownButteredSage@reddit
I’m pretty sure this person who has never met you knows more about your health than you do. You’re so arrogant.

You saying that on a post of someone salting salami and cheese, we're not talking about a casual amount of salt intake.
MyAssPancake@reddit
Brother, too much salt is bad. Love salt, but don’t love it so much that you drink it straight. That meat is already salty as fuck lol
its10pm@reddit
I think that's pretty obvious.
VisionAri_VA@reddit
Road salt, at that. 😆

I would love to see you actually eat this 😹
Small-Clue640@reddit
Salt is lethal if consumed 1g per 1 kg of body mass
stefferier@reddit
I never knew that.
HerMajestysButthole2@reddit
I, too, enjoy my salami with a side of crystal meth.

You are just salt marinating the meat
Ambitious-Body8133@reddit
Don't get me wrong, I love salt, but.. pickling salt? Did the box break, and you dumped the whole thing?
cyproyt@reddit (OP)
I accidentally twisted the grinder off of the salt shaker and it pretty much emptied onto my food
