My mom was staunchly against artificial fibers for sleepwear, so I wore long poplin or flannel nightgowns made by my grandmother — ruffles at the yoke and everything. Mom relented when I started going to slumber parties, and bought me *The Little Mermaid* pajamas. They were very cool, but I loved my old-fashioned nightgowns, too!

My Karate Kid pjs looked like a gi and came with a headband. Well, in my mind it looked like a gi, but the headband was great and I kept it for a while.
