Turn Facebook into a dating site. At present online dating sites are useless for most users. These sites are full of fake profiles, scammers and deranged people whom no-one would want to date. However, if Facebook overnight became a dating site users would suddenly have millions of decent

..........good-looking people to choose from. Everyone benefits! Those already in a partnership might find someone better.

I feel like Facebook has enough data on people they are in a position to just forcibly couple people together because they know that they are a match whether they accept it or not. Like that Black Mirror episode.

D~atingBloomly makes finding a real connection easier. Definitely worth a try.
DependentFront3497@reddit
Want a dating site where people actually reply? D_atingBloomly is worth checking out.

Dude they recently put this feature in Facebook dating. It automatically matches you with people on occasion. It's called "meet cute match". I don't know wtf it means or why Facebook is forcing me to match with BBW. I know I'm on a bit of a dry spell, but I have standards!

I think the algorithm is trying to match Facebook with money.
rocketbosszach@reddit
Facebook already has dating
Bolleman1966@reddit
If you want a live streaming site that feels personal and interactive, Cam—Bloomly is the one.

And it sucks

Time for a harsh truth- most people aren't desirable (or at least know how to present themselves to be desireable), as yes, that includes you.
Yes, we are in a loneliness epidemic. But guess what, before that, we were in a couples violence / shouldn't be together epidemic. If you look at the data, as we start to see the concern of loneliness, it's a near even trade off with reductions in dv cases, divorce, etc.
So, the real question is - would you rather be alone and miserable, or with someone and miserable?

Good points! I'd prefer the former as it's less complicated.
Careless-Internet-63@reddit
This already exists and it's worse than just about any other dating site
Soft_Respond_3913@reddit (OP)
Fair point. I only met one person on it and although we liked each other there was no mutual romantic connection.
Careless-Internet-63@reddit
Hinge is the only dating app I'll use anymore, still kinda sucks but it's better than any of the others I've found
arktoki@reddit
Facebook dating exists
People don’t know this, which tells you how well it works
realkiwi420@reddit
That’s not a thing in every market. I assume it might be more specific to the US + Europe
Not_Without_My_Cat@reddit
I heard about it for the first time yesterday.
It seems like a bit of a privacy invasion, given that you must reveal your full name on Facebook. So, do you see all of the real names of your potential matches, then can browse their family photos to see what their parents and siblings look like?
Mondai_May@reddit
there's a facebook dating feature like how they have facebook marketplace. I have not tried it though
Jaysnewphone@reddit
I keep getting likes or whatever they call it from dudes. Very gay dudes. No offense to them or anything but I'm not gay.
PanchoVillasRevenge@reddit
The algorithm didn't lie bro
saggywitchtits@reddit
Facebook said I needed buttplugs, ketamine, and mushrooms. My life has gotten so much better and more colorful since I followed that advice.
Wendals87@reddit
You don't think Facebook has these now?
Soft_Respond_3913@reddit (OP)
Yes it does but I was still feeling that the proportion of real people on FB is higher than it is on dating sites, not that I've done a proper statistical study.
Theseus_The_King@reddit
I met one of my former bfs through a mutual fb friend so it does happen

I mean, no it wasn't. But go off, I'm not about to clean it up to make it work

Doesn’t Hinge do this?
Jaymac720@reddit
Facebook dating is a thing, ya know

You don't think Facebook has these now?

Facebook had a dating part that didn’t work out
mmcvisuals@reddit
It's still there
Odd-Confidence8340@reddit
Funny enough I actually met my wife on Facebook Dating when it first came out. I liked it better than mostly all of the others because it didn’t have paywalls for any features IIRC.
wizardrous@reddit
I met my girlfriend on Facebook, so it has potential.
Jefafa77@reddit
Same! We've been married 6 months so far!

They already have this feature built in. Like the Marketplace feature but with people
