I rented this on VHS back in the early 80’s and it was HILARIOUS! The different drunk walks from different types of liquor 😂😂😂

Despite his terrible choices in his personal life he was an incredibly gifted comedian on stage
View on Reddit #52281923

notshtbow@reddit

Nah. He is a rapist, multiple counts. POS, nothing he did prior could (ever) make up for that.
View on Reddit #52283349

Lonestar-Boogie@reddit

Thanks for being the guy who feels he has to shit all over everyone's good childhood memories even though we all know and condemn what Cosby did.
View on Reddit #52284498

notshtbow@reddit

Huh? He's a rapist. I have a wife, two sisters and a mother I love. Fuck that guy. If that bothers anyone, that's on them.
View on Reddit #52298165

MST3kPez@reddit

They aren’t saying it makes up for it. Just that he was a gifted comedian on stage. His comedy and his actions don’t negate each other. Just royally and legitimately taints his legacy as a comedian.
View on Reddit #52283471

notshtbow@reddit

I didn't say they were. I was just saying he's a POS.
View on Reddit #52283667

ThingsMayAlter@reddit

So when you said “Nah”, you meant “Nah, I agree totally agree he’s a great comedian, but also a rapist”?
View on Reddit #52285339

Stardustquarks@reddit

I struggle to break the artist from their art too. I hate Tom Cruise and refuse to watch his movies even though I was a huge fan before I realized what a cultist pos he is. Same boat with Qualude boy here. I can’t watch his shit anymore even though I used to love it. Used to song the chocolate cake thing all the time, anytime something good happened. It sucks when reality hits
View on Reddit #52283594

notshtbow@reddit

Agreed. Any nostalgia and positive thoughts around Cosby have been destroyed for me.
View on Reddit #52283788

Alaska_Roy@reddit

The fact that he was a gifted comedian onstage will never make up for being a rapist, but both are still true.

I remember watching his 'Himself' routine when it aired on his HBO comedy special. Every time it was on, I stopped to watch. Those were some innocent times (well, for me anyway).
View on Reddit #52286953

Consistent_Pitch782@reddit

Who is the arbiter of separating art from the person? Cosby’s comedy was objectively funny. People still listen to Michael Jackson. Cardie B is still popular. Louis CK has made a degree of a comeback. We don’t boycott films that Harvey Weinstein produced. Cosby is tough in that he holds this nostalgic place in my life - probably the same for most Gen Xers. His comedy makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. But I can’t deny that it makes me laugh

Himself is one of the all time greatest comedic sets ever. If he wasn’t a POS person, this performance would go down as great as any Carlin or Pryor or anything else. He was absolutely perfect and I’ve watched this a 100 times and still cry laughing.

Was given a Cosby book about "raising children" by the mother-in-law about 20 years ago. One of my most cherished possessions now.

Before the world learned what a depraved POS he is, his HBO comedy special (kids, brain damage, dentists, hangovers, etc.) Was (and still is) hillarious.

We had it on vhs and watched it often.

the dentist tells you not to pick your teeth with any sharp metal object, but when he gets you in that chair the first thing he grabs is an iron hook...

My dad was into Cosby standup and the Cosby show. I was more into Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. I can’t imagine anyone watching or listening to Cosby anymore knowing he’s a rapist

Every car trip. I always feel awkward reciting his pearls of wisdom. So much great comedy and valuable insights now tarnished.

Why cocaine? Because it enhances a personality. But what if you’re in a hole?

My parents had a few of this vinyls. We listened to them often. He’s a great comedian, just an awful person.

I watched the concert film so much, I can almost do this whole routine off memory. Also, the film for "Bill Cosby Himself" was shot in my hometown. 200mph and The Chicken Heart That Ate Up New York City still make me laugh. Funny is funny, regardless what I may think of him now.

No tapes, but I'd watch the Himself video whenever I saw it on cable.

We had this LP, as well as “why is there air?”. He was just a killer onstage. No question about it. We would jump on the bed and listen to this all the time

I loved these tapes as a kid. "Kill the boy" is hilarious. It's a shame I can't really listen to these any more.
