Is Bulgaria a good destination for cheap dental treatments/dental implants?

I know that there are several countries which offer cheaper dental treatments than the UK and some of them may well be cheaper than Bulgaria, but one of my mates has moved over there and I’m wondering about going to see him and have some cheap dental work done at the same time.

I am Bulgarian and my gran was the Charge Dental Nurse at Plovdiv Dental University until she retired in 2020. Short answer is: it depends. Prices have been going up, especially after the pandemic. It is still cheaper to it in Bg than UK. I’d only give you one advice: go to one of the head guys- a professor or what you’d call a ‘dotsent’ in Bulgarian (associate professor). These are the guys worth every penny that will do a much better job than 80% of the dentists in this country.

Depends if price is all you care about. Probably they are pretty good and cheaper and better than the UK (not a particularly hard for either criteria) But if something goes wrong do you speak Bulgarian? What if they fuck it up and you need to stay there for a few weeks? What if you need to go back and get more done from the same guy because of an error? Do you have any recourse if they do fuck up? How do you know this guy is registered and safe etc… Personally I wouldn’t to save a few quid.
