Best way to study for RHCSA?

A few months ago I was studying for the exam, using CentOS on Virtual Box. I ran into some issues when it came into learning Virtualization, GRUB, etc, due to the limitations of running on a VM.
I want to get back into it, but this time I won't use a VM to avoid the extra issues that come up, and I can focus on learning the material. I have an extra SSD, should I install CentOS on there?
For those who studied using a VM, how did you surpass the limitations?
Thanks guys

You need a physical machine if you want to lab the virtualization portions. The GUI is available on the test so use that to your advantage instead of remembering virsh commands.
Everything else including GRUB and Kickstart can be practiced in a CentOS VM. In fact, I would highly recommend using a VM for everything else since you can nuke it and rebuild much faster than bare metal.

I was doing lab where the root password has been lost, so you interact at the GRUB phase and enter into single user mode. When I was trying to remount /, I was getting an error saying it couldn't find the device. I assumed this was a VM issue, maybe the device is loaded up at a later stage by the VBox software, so it wasn't available at the GRUB phase. Makes sense? Let me know if my logic is wrong please? Thanks!

You should be mounting /sysroot instead of /. Steps below assume you have successfully used rd.break to drop into the emergency target.
I don't know why you would get a error about not finding the device if you were following the steps above since CentOS 7 is supported by Virtualbox. If you're still having problems, maybe try VMware Player instead?

Virtual Box is a flaming pile of buggy shit. Definitely use VMWare fusion which is now free for personal use. I cannot begin to tell you all the stupid issues I experienced in virtual box but not in VMWare fusion
