A few things: The engines are monsters, routinely weighing in at 3k lbs by themselves and can easily produce 1600-2200 ft lbs of torque and 5-600hp from the factory. Max Legal Weight (in most states) of a fully loaded tractor/trailer is 80k lbs. (for comparison, the average vehicle people drive is probably around 5-6k lbs) The tractor has ten wheels/tires (stay out of this super single guys) and to replace the tires can easily be $5-$6k. BUT you can routinely get 150-200k miles on a good set of drive tires (steer tires vary wildly depending on type of use but 100k miles is a good average.) Apparently every driver of a rig is also equipped with military style weapons and munitions systems. Now you know a little more than “fuck all” about them.
